hi guys finaly got the weather to do the change today. do i need to take the rubber cusions off the original sprocket and fit to the new?
i have a new aprilia one but it does not have these on

Ok took the bike out and still feel its lacking a bit of zip..its got 15t front & 41rear..any ideas how big i can go on the rear with the standard chain length??
Or do i just need to get used to riding it..(was riding a zx636r) ?? :dunno

hi chaps wanted to ask the experts i have an rsvr 03 old shape was looking to change to either 15 tooth or 16 tooth on front what would you recommend and how much would this effect the top end speed by doing this want to keep the original 42 tooth on the back thanks for any advice.

Do I need the bellypan off and what secures the sprocket - a large nut I asssume? Anyone know what size so I can check my sockets?

Just finished putting the 16t on the Mille and cant find anywhere the torque settings for the nut that holds the front sprocket on? :dunno

Changed my front sprocket to a 15 t this morning but when torqueing the stud to 80 ft lb it felt like that poor wee bolt was about to snap so i stopped before the wrench clicked or the stud snapped!!!
Did i have the right setting or have i overcooked it????
Gearing feels alot better now just...
when sorting out rear tyre I found play in the rear sprocket, thought it was cush rubbers so removed sprocket to check, found cush rubbers ok however 4 of the 5 Allen key bolts that hold carrier onto rear wheel were loose, the question is as this caused the holes to be opened up through chain...

I was changing chain and sprockets (16/44) at first i had to figure out which way round to fit talon rear sprocket as its machined thinner (-1.5mm) in the center from one side, worked out that the flat side(no inset) should go up against sprocket carrier :) otherwise sprockets would not line up...
