Would you buy an SP1 or SP2

I've just gone the other way! (from SP2 to RSV Factory)

I like the RSV better on the road,
a bit more comfortable riding position
a fair bit easier to ride at low revs/speed in town (less on/off jerkiness)
a lot less noise, mySP2 had carbon Akrapovics, the Factory has those nice looking black standard cans (05 year)
a lot easier to turn when on the go:doug

Mate of mine has a minter SP1,it's a cracking bike and being Honda they should be very reliable plus they hold their price very well.

Sounds awesome with Akros fitted and the dash layout is one of the best I reckon.

No anti Jap bias from me on that bike :thumbup

I had a '00 sp1 it was a fantastic bike. Good power, very precise deliberate handling, reliable. Unfortunately someone else thought it would be fantastic for them so they stole it on a rainy day when I didn't ride her to work. So I decided to upgrade to a Rsv-r Factory to try something different. I definately would hesitate in buying another for the right price. I would however go with the sp2 for the extra hp and updated fork rake and swing arm. If you are looking for a great resource for the RC51's rc51.org is very comprehensive. I had mine for over 3 years and loved every minute of it. They're nearly maintenance free just the regular oil change and set of tires.

Owned a RSV for two years, then an SP2, then 999 AND 999S and now gone back to an RSV. The SP2 handles very well but I think is slower than the RSV plus the RSV sounds better

bought an sp1 the first year they were out :doug
what a bike seen nine points in eight months it was so smooth at high speed to notice the filth:biggrin
time to get shut:confused
but would have been better taken the wheels off and parkin it up til i calmed down a bit as seen the price they at now
wish i'd never got shut:rant

the prila is nice though:inlove

tough call soon as them numbers come up i'll have both in the garage

Its funny, the only reason I bought the RSV was because I couldnt find an SP1 :)

And the SP2's were a little out my budget

TIM STOP BLOODY STRESSING MAN THE RIGHT BIKE WILL SHOW UP FOR YA . IF I DID DO THE SP THING I WOULD DEFO GET ONE AS CLOSE TO THE MIGHTY JOEY'S AS POSS .

Its crazy how many RSV owners were looking for an SP1/2 and ended up with an Aprilia...I am another.......Unlike you tall uns, I struggle with the seat hight on the prila and have dropped it twice. I did drive an SP1 and found it snatchy especially around town in the wet. I love my rsvr.........but live in fear because of reliability issues. The thought of a europen trip on it, gives me sleepless nights. Reliability is a given with the Honda. If I sell it....... the SP2 will be my next bike, that is IF!!!!

Dude has your bike had a lift kit fitted? :dunno I'm a mere 5ft 8 and can comfortably fit on my 2000 mille which is a physically bigger bike than the post 2004 model.

im actually thinking of selling the millie to buy an sp, rode me mates sp the other day and loved it.
