Would you buy an SP1 or SP2

So an SP2 is really better than a SP1...............just looking at the prices and they are higher marked ............but do they justify that price?

Mate of mine Tim had an SP1 and now has a Tuono cause of back pain but he says if he could would go back to an SP1 tomorrow ,,,,,,,, Had a couple of rides on it and was the dogs danglies :thumbup

Ill be the first, for me I would hunt for the a good rsv and leave the sp allow. reason? just don't like the flat nose, sounds amazing but so does a rsv and goes like stink, so does a rsv!
The only reason I would go back to a honda if for reliability. Strong build!

It's only money that stops me owning an SP2, I'd have one over a priller any day, if only for the reliability aspect.

Having said that, look how much performance, character, equipment and looks you get with an RSV, for a significantly lower price.

Tough call.

cant get me head round that for a yr 2000 its the same price as a RSV 04.................are prices high in the UK aswell????????????

Yes mate, like I said, you'd get an 05 >, (maybe even an 06), Factory for the price of an 02 SP2. The SP2 was an expensive bike when it was first released, and is still quite sort after.

Tim,no i personally don't like them,to small.Stick to it fella,get an rsv..:thumbup

P.s.(& sleep).:devious:devious

I wanted an Sp1 but got out bid on it on the ol' Ebay.

It's a great bike and an investement.

SP2 generally seems to be better, but that shows in the price too!

If money was equal you'd be made to have a Mille over an SP1/SP2, but trouble is, it isn't...

For good SP money you can be looking at lateish blades, R1's, first ZX10, even a 999 if you fancy?

Isn't it because they are in effect, the homologlonation bike for the WSB rounds - they didn't make a "base" model bike (firestorm ignored) i.e. the SP1/2 is in effect the same as a Mille SP hence the high resale value?

You are getting an HRC bike, without necessarily the usual HRC pricetag.

The 2nd-hand prices are expensive, that's one of the reasons I went for a Mille.

Sp2 for me lads. I used to knock about with a mate who had one, the only downside was the 82 mile tank range
