Been out for another great weekend blast down the A272 from Crawley to Bornemouth. Love that road!! 2.5hrs non-stop twisties and fast sweepers...bliss!

There was however two occurances when coming out of a relatively tight bend while still cranked over the front tire gave a little just as I started pilling on the power! :eek Not too mjuch to worry about as its done this to me a couple of time before when I'm really gunning it.

That said trying to keep up with my mate on his 1098 Duc is hard going as he's so quick to get the power down out of a bend. I wondered if anyone has played around with dropping the forks through the top yoke and if so by how much, with what results? Just feel that my factory could do with being a tad more weighty on the nose :dunno

What settings are you running currently ? have you had anyone set the suspension up for you?

just drooping the Yokes won't necessarily make it better.

Yeah I have had a mate who races in Bemsie do all the normal stuff.
From what I can remember:

Front compression - 6 out from fully hard
Front rebound - 8 out from fully hard
Front pre-load - cant remember but cranked up a tad

Rear compression - 10 out from fully hard
Rear rebound - 8 out from fuly hard
Pre-load - Increased but again cant remember

Ride height Increase by about 5mm

It feels rock solid now and setup great, perhaps a little too stiff for naff bumby B roads. The only problem is this tendency to give a little on the front when cranking on the power lent over? Maybe I'm just being too ham fisted?? :dunno

I think you need to set the static sag mate. If the susp is set up too hard you will lose some, and the front will lift as the rear has no sag in it when opening up.

Get off the seat and more over the front end to weight up the front end some. That made a BIG difference for me. The guys I know that have been racing the T say that by dropping the forks about 5-8mm it increases the ease of turn in and puts more weight on the front end. Just a thought. More often than not, it's the rider though, so try a trackday and see if you can get a bit of constructive criticism from one of the instructors.

I have 4 rings showing on the tops of my forks on my Gen 1, as said above move forward in corners, "try to kiss the mirror" as someone said somewhere.

It's worth remembering that the Tuono is basically an RSVR with handlebars so the 50-50 distribution has gone 60-40, you need to work around this.

Cheers guys! good advice... I will work on the moving more forward. I do hang of a lot already and regularly get me knee down but dont conciously move forward. Another race mate of mine said about pushing down hard on the opposite peg!?

This I will also try dropping the from yoke a few mil. Checked the rear setup and that was bang-on although the front rebound was a bit slow. Perhaps this was causing a slight lift of or drop of weight when I started rillong on the gas???
