I'm guessing that means east midlands. And where in the UK is that exactly? In terms of county, etc... I would like to learn more of your fine land :)

49 here, riding 33 years. I find the majority of riders will nod or wave. I don't bother with HDs or cruisers as they rarely respond, nobbers.

It does depend a lot what bike you're on though. On my Tuono, and now my S1000R, most people will nod or wave back, whereas if I'm on my Bonneville, especially if I'm wearing my open face lid, most riders look st me like I'm a piece of ****.

Weird.

The East Midlands or where I'm from is Nottm/Derby Junction 25 of the M1 mate.

Technically I'm in Derby (they have my council tax) but being a Nottm Rugby and Nottm Forest fan....having a Notts Postcode, Notts phone number....I'd say Nottm all day long :)

Leicester try and muscle in on the East Mids thing but no one cares about them.....They do make nice crisps though :)

You won't ever find East Midlands on a map Caveman....but it's Nottingham Derbyshire and Leicestershire :)

Ahh... so literally the center of England but a little to the east.. The land of the Shires :)
Leiscester Pom Frittes??

Walkers crisps !! ------- made with potatoes from east anglia !!:thumbup

Yep...that's pretty much it mate :)

We have a West Midlands too..... but no one can understand a word they say....sort of like a daft/simple cousin who was dropped on his head as a baby many many times lol

Thanks, got it. So I guess the west mids are your "red-necks." :)

I just saw Walker Crisps on Amazon. Ten friggin bucks! What's in them Saxon taters gold!!?!?

Normally up here in Scotlandshire most dudes nod or wave. However I was out today and did 305 miles and only about 25% responded. Not sure if this was because there was a lot of bikes out and people were getting repetitive strain

slayer, we passed loads of bikes last weekend (FudFest) the majority of them waved or nodded.

Didn't seem to notice any difference wae whit they were riding.

Must admit when yer passing a long line of them comin the other way,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, riding single handed on the go grip can be a wee bit awkward.

ah wave, nod, stick a foot oot, thumbs up thumbs doon awe dependin o ma state at the time...if yer razzin wi the bike cowped ower its sometimes nae the best tae be flappin yer airm aboot so a wee stick oot to the fit is some times less unsettlin.

Like Aldo ah aye acknowledge a road user if they gie ye space or are even jist aware yer there. An often gie a thumbs up tae anything cool ye see on the road. The auld classic car boys love that an ye aye get a wave or a flash back. All good for the biking image an that.

Any roads whit is the consus o opinion as tae whit signal tae give if a speed traps looming?

Ah wiz oot wi some lads at the weekend and the lead young laddie suddenly sat up and started wavin his airm aboot like he was at a Take That concert, this was efter several cars had awe ready flashed tae warn us. All in full site o the camera van!

Ah had a wee wordie tae let him ken tae keep it sutble as the bobbies will do ye if they catch ye daein that as they deem it pervertin the course o justice or something like that.

We got a fair bit of warning at two different sites yesterday from car, lorry, and biker drivers/riders with regards to speed traps. Both were in 30s which is fair enough. We tend to stick to the limits in towns and villages anyway but it was good of the others for the heads up

They used to be the best team but Sarries have pretty much over taken them now and Quids, Northants and Bath are all in the mix too.

We have players from Leicester dual registered with us at Nottm. So we played Leicester in a preseason friendly this year and turned them over!.....Rich Cockrell was not a happy bunny lol

I always nod. In past few months peeps have stopped

Shotgun- North Somerset you say??? Me too. What's your little jalopy ?
