Worth the Extra ?

Hi Guys. . Still looking to buy my first RSV R !. . . Like most things you get tempted in to better and more expensive examples !. . . Love the look of an 02 Ltd edition Haga Replica on E Bay but it is top money !!. . The guys not budging on the price. . . . Would you say it's worth the extra ?. . . Got about 8000 miles on her and looks the dogs with full history and extras and the guy wants £3900 . .!. . . Be interested in your comments as am new to the world of italian V's. . . Cheers

im my opinion thats way too much...but anything is worTH as much as any one is willing to pay for it...for a little extra you could get a COLIN EDWARDS replica which really is the pinnacle of the old shape milles...they REALLY are worth spending the extra on..

JUST MY OPINION ..:dunno

I wouldn't rush straight into an expensive one first up.

How they go is way Important than how they show with these babies.

I've had three bikes with RSVs in em and the lump wise the cheapest (and oldest with highest miles) was definitely the best, suspension needed work though. Paying that sort of money is OTT IMO.

TBH matey, you cant go far wrong with any of the rsv's from 98 to present day. They're all awesome machines. Some people will swear the later engines make their bike faster, some people are certain their öhlins kit fitted to the higher spec models means that corner can be taken faster. It might make a slight difference on track but on the road its insignificant. In the real world, its all about the rider (would you want to race rossi on your rsv with him riding a bandit? Thought not!) Just test ride some and buy the one that means you come back grinning from ear to ear under your visor! I have a nine year old rsvr and its fantastic.

last jan i paid £2300 for an '02 RSV-R with all the R bling bits in very good condition with nice extras like harris rearsets, 2x sato pipes, some spare bodywork and a box of useful extras like brake pads & service items, front paddock stand and an optimate along with all the original parts. all the consumables were mid life or newer, it had under 25,000m on the clock which is nothing for these engines. it had had a full service.

it runs sweet and has never given me any grief
that's a saving of over £1600 + about another £600+ worth of extras compared to the bike you mentioned. that's a lot.

i spent ages pouring over ebay, knew my stuff and pounced when a good deal came up. bikes go cheap over winter, it was bloody cold riding it home in the snow though! but the bloke had to sell it.

don't be afraid of higher milage bikes if they have been loved, find yourself a bargain. good luck.

I think thats not a bad price for a haga rep as long as it is a real haga rep and is clean with service history.
Or you can get a nice R for 3k or less and you could spend what you save on some leathers or something.

Far to much money find yourself a 2004 RSVR FACTORY all the good bits already on the bike, sold mine for £3,500 and it had twin akras and abba stand
