Aprilia replaced the battery for me too, was fine or seemed fine for a few weeks but the problem came back...
I also fitted the thicker Halfords earth cable with no effect:thumbdown
Bike went in for a valve service (which the majority were very tight and needed shimming) and hey presto :thumbup
Never had a problem after that......

It cost me £500 but most needed shims which bumped it up a bit...
It really was a different bike coming back to me so was well worth the dosh and the piece of mind that it had been done....
Bike was on 9000 miles and 18 months old when i had it done
