Won't start when hot !!!

Hi all

I have a Tuono V4 ARPC, I'm over the moon with it but when it's over 60° it won't start until the temp goes down, so if my running in town it might go to 90°.... stop for petrol, go to start it up and it sounds like the battery is dead and it won't turn over, so I'd be stuck there for 30-45 mins until it calls down then she'll fire up in a second !!!! Any clues....... it goes back to the dealer on Monday but just wanted see if anyone else has/had the same problems
 
Yeah known issue, an update on the map solved it partially.

I added an extra thick negative cable attached to battery to subframe from halfords, think it was 9 inches, motoelectric do a kit too.

Had a call from the garage after a weeks testing.......the problem has been solved apparently the answer ......a new battery !!! I don't know about that !!! I can leave it 1-2 weeks and she'll start first time !!!
 
Not the battery, mine is always on an optimiser and is charging at 14.3v at idle, my battery is healthy and it still won't tick over when hot, your garage is wrong.
 
I'm thinking the same ......and they wanted me to pay for the battery! !! Still under warranty
 
Nah Mate, It's got more to do with the heat these bike generate and the ****** thin power and earth cables me thinks, lots of info on AF1 forum, I'll be changing to a thicker earth lead as a first option cheapest option:thumbup if that doesn't work I'll do both power and earth.
 
Agree mate, I'll buy both and change both or have a go at least .....on here somewhere someone posted details of the upgraded cables
 
Good Luck, pisses me off that Aprilia hasn't got a fix for this, seem they have put it in the to hard basket!:thumbdown
 
Update : just got my baby back from Blade Motorcycles, they fitted a new battery ........seams to have worked !!! I was very suspicious, that they were trying to palm me off with some half arsed job but it's started every time when hot, I am going to upgrade the earth cable, just as an extra precaution. Great to have her back and great ride back from Swindon

That's good to know got mine from Blade Swindon,but its been fine so far :thumbup
 
Blade were excellent they even changed the front indicator, another one snapped I glued it but John put a new one on and gave me a spare for the other side !!! Great service
 
Glad that's worked for you Barty, Not being negative but I'm a bit sceptical in the long run.
