Why did you choose a tuono ????

i borrowed me mates ...and wud not give it back !
so i traded my jap 4 for one ! oh yeahhh

Once the boys were old enough to ride pillion I converted the TL with a LSL yoke and Renthal bars as the prone position was killing my wrists at 60, however this made the TL enter a weave at over 100 due to moving the weight further rearwards, so a replacement was needed. It had to be a V twin, have an upright riding position and be an animal when needed. Enter the Tuono.

cause I was tired of being uncomfortable on my 09 cbr1000rr. I went and test rode a tuono and traded the cbr the same day

was considering the change from 750 to 1000, rode my step dads 1050 triple, which i liked, but wasnt quite what i was looking for, and had a triumph before (speed 4) which suffered with reliability problems. didnt fancy a duc, i dont like the fuelling on the ktm's
(rode an rc8, and my step dad rode the superduke and said the same) and to be more awkward i fancied a change from 4's. i was still milling it over when i went to the local dealer for a general browse, there was an 07 tuono R looking me in the eye, they gave me the keys, it took about 5 miles (if that) to decide this was the next bike. loads of torque, handling was sublime and she looks gorgeous from every angle, riding position is ideal for the milage i do (20k plus/year), and it has (reasonable) wind protection.
but i wanted a better deal, they were not prepared to improve, so i went to the nearest aprilia dealer and snapped up the ex demo for £100 less, half the milage, 2 years warantee (opposed to 3 months) and it was 2 years newer! the trade in was 25% better too.
job done.

OK, so here's my story...

About 8-9 years ago I bought my first V twin, a Monster 900 which was great fun after a ZXR750. That got me into the whole V twin thing, so my next bike was a 996, which I absolutely loved. A couple of years down the line I decided to get a '52 plate Mille R, which I expected to be similar to the Duke and I had a surprise when it was 'a little less agricultural'! I kept that for a while, then, after never liking 999's fell in love with a 999 Mono in a dealers and had to have it. Less than one year later the love affair ended abrubtly when a main bearing exploded, I was getting older and fancied something a bit more upright as we were getting more into touring anyway. Along came a Tiger 1050 with luggage and a two year warranty (essential after the Duke disaster!). A year after that and I basically decided that I simply wasn't having enough fun on it. I wanted something with a bit of 'attitude' and I saw a rather nice T Factory at a good price and have been grinning ever since!

P.S. Can somebody tell me how you hang on to the bars, coz this thing sure has got some grunt and with higher bars it's a bit of a job to hang on sometimes!!! :thumbup

for me like almost everyone else by the sound of it ! it was the riding position / full power / v twin / looks / handling / italian exotica / that about covers it :thumbup

Just get bored on my BMW-GS.so was looking for fast, powerfull and beautiful bike.any better idea, then Tuono? ;-)

a had wan years ago, as wan o ma mates had a gen1, and it had a full system, plenty carbon, gillies rearsets and a whale host o bits, it wis tidy as ****, he then decided tae tak up racing an wis puntin it,,,, needless tae say, bish bosh, blade selt, jobs a guid ane, a then punted it tae a boy up dundee way wha totalled it on the first day o hain it, a felt hert sorry fir him, and a went back tae sports bikes, totalled the factory rsv last year an ****'d ma shidders, got insurance cheque fae pissin ****** brokers, and thocht aboot ma next purchase, tried a couple blades gixers and wis sair as ****, then thocht **** this, upright time, looked at a zed 1000,,,, kinda saft in the front end, thocht aboot dain a fechter, but didnae want to be pissin aboot wi a bike 20 years auld, serious toiled wi the speed triple, but ahm a twin fan, and thocht nut a tuono it is, fund wan doon in new castle, well bedlington, guid deal ower the fone drove doon in the van, brocht the hoor hame, braw

Wanted a mille at first before the tuono came out but wasnt sure the new wife would be happy on back as she never been on a bike before.
saw the T, fell in love with looks cause its ard as f#*k and the noise of the
V60 kicks some too.

Mrs said get one:eek. Tried it,game over:yes

Price and performance really.

Along with a sit up riding position.

When i was looking for a replacement i wanted a Twin as i prefer twins/singles. I wanted sit up position and the only bikes that ticked the boxes were

Superduke
950sm
Tuono
SV1000
TLS

Out of them, the 2 KTM's were out of the budget. The TLS is **** and the SV1000 i expected to be a little 'dull' and samey. So the Tuono was the obvious choice.

With the Tuono as you can get a 2003 it means you can get a bike for sub £3000.

Im with Weeksy,,but it was getting a bit painful on the long rides on the gixxer,,,following BSB.
I had a mille R in the past so the tuono was the Logical choice,,I have had everything FZs FZRs RD Ts Blades Gixxers R1 VTR MilleR plus several crossers
and I can honestly say the Tuono is probably the best i have owned for doing the lot':thumbup

G'day, I bought my 2007 Tuono Factory spec as a "pressy" for myself and a Nissan Navarah for the missus from the sale of my mountain bushland acreage and cabin at 650m elevation.
Now that I don't travel 7kms on dirt roads daily (still could manage 200kph on uphill straight with hairpin corner at end on a good day). My driveway was 3kms long rising 350m. It was time to sell the old 1985 900R Kwaka.
I've always loved the sound of twins and wanted a naked bike for a change.
Now the Tuono has map2 and re-cored cans. Sounds' the bees knees and goes like a bullet. WELL WORTH THE $$$$$$$$$$$$$:thumbup:thumbup
:cheers Perry

Because when you compare Japanese crapp with Italian Made, look closely at the high end engineering fabrication and quality of components used.

I have mates in Australia who race Japanese bikes and before they start, new bike straight out of a crate can be up too 30 thou out of square !!!
Why ? Because they are mass produced !!!

Had three hinckley Triumphs (Speed Triple & 2 Daytonas) and had trouble with all
of them. Bored with the sportsbike/japbike thing and wanted something different.
My brother had a TLthou so I liked the V-twin engine but the Tuono had everything
the TL had and a lot more. I made the right choice and apart from upgrading to
the factory/ohlins bike i just don't see anthing else out there which has the same
combination of character/performance/sheer funkiness. I'm just under 6 foot and
13 stone and I find it totally comfortable, practical and fast. What more do you
want???
