Who's just bought a TL then?

Just listing now mate, its a shame its got to go , even my wife says she doesn't want me to sell, never mind, things will pick up again

true mate,times a healer.
at least youve still got a very nice tl v twin to blast around on mate.
when my 2002 r1 (brand new at the time) got nicked i was gutted,id spent a fortune on that bike,in both looks and tuning mods,i lost a fortune and spent the next few years bikeless.horrid times.
wish you all the best with it all anyway johnny.:thumbup

Where's the negative response :confused have i missed a thread on here :dunno

The guy on the TLZone said this thread was the negative response :dunno that's what annoyed me - he was just stirring things up :jack

youd think we can all get on with each other,no matter what we ride, were all bikers in the end ffs.
i like loads of different bikes, and by no means think mine is the best bike or twin ever ect, every bike has its pro's and cons, mine just suits me down to the ground in many ways, couldnt care less who has more torque/bhp as long as mine is enough for me,and i still get excited when i open the garage door, then thats all that matters.
the tl looks ace mate, and cos youve had them before,i know youll enjoy it when youve got her how you want her.

I haven't seen it either.

I started off wanting an RSV a long time ago, but first I had a 2000 TLS

Then my TLS got stolen, and I bought a 2002 TLR, I er....modified it a bit..........

Had DR-Z400SM, then a KTM 525SMR, then I traded the DR-Z for a TLS, which I er........modified a bit.......

But, alas, the love was gone and last summer I traded it for a Gixxer 750, probably 25 times better than the TL was.....and I modified it er.......a little too.......

Most of the TL guys dig the Aprilia and it seems to go both ways, generally the Ducati types frown on the TL, but not all of them. Just my 2 cents.

Your tl with the full fairing looks lush.
Dont like them so much with half fairing.

I agree Doug - it's just that a few TL diehards do not like to think another bike could possibly be as good or have as much 'soul'. They invest vast amounts of money to make their TL's half decent then they don't want to know if another bike is 'better'.

I loved my TL for the year that I had it. When I bought it I could not afford an Aprilia but I was happy with it and proceeded to do all the 'mods' to try to sort all it's inherent problems and try to improve the less than perfect handling. Later I was lucky enough to come across a bargain RSV on ebay and then owned both at the same time.

To me and for my needs the RSV was a vastly superior bike and I made the mistake of saying so on the TLZone :dowhat I rode them back to back several times and came to realise all I had been doing with the TL was spending money trying to make it more like an RSV. I sold the TL and all the extras I'd collected for it and ended up £500 better off with a much nicer bike :biggrin. Some people on the TLZone did not like that so I left.

I would still have another TL if I could afford both, it has it's good points especially the motor (I recommended one to my nephew after all) so good luck to Posh Johnny on his new mount :thumbup

this happens alot with many different marques, spose you cant fault folk for being loyal to their brand, happened alot when i went from an evo to a subaru, mines better than yours ect, ones faster in a straight line, the others better through the bends and sounds way better/more soul lol.

youll always get it,alot of people get one type of bike ,its usualy honda riders that are worse, they never have ewt but hondas for ever, rant on about build quality and reliability, but i find them boring for those same reasons.
each to their own,its what makes the world go round imo,we all look for summat different in our bikes.
ive always loved the tl1000r in blue gsxr colours, but no so keen,as paynts says on the half faired tls,but always had respect for the tls's reputation as a bit of an animal.

Having gone over and read the linked post, I think there is nothing going on. Let's all get our big girl panties on and go ride :coocoo

And commenting on something you know nothing about is a sure sign of ignorance :biggrin

I read the post like every one else and came to a conclusion based upon that - my perception of the tone implied by the post. So, ignorant - not relevant. A poor attempt at humour - maybe. Rude - not in the slightest. Warrant a rude reply? Surely not , unless it of couse as I said, rudeness is.....

Nice wheels there PJ, it's not like you whent and got a Honda :dowhat
Finally we get a bit of a juicy and pointless thread on the Zone :lol
