I'm going to be headed off an a randomly chosen bearing and see how far I can get using green lanes, unclassifieds and the occasional B road. Aim is to stick as close to that bearing as possible for as long as possible, basically until hitting coastline.

Parallel UK stylee......... another madman is doing J O'G - Lands End in the same way.

Because of the mix of surfaces tyres are going to be crucial but thats a thread in itself :pirate

KTM 690 enduro is a possibility, may be able to pull a couple of strings for the duration;) Although to be honest something lighter might have to be considered ;)

I did that in France last year. A big U-shaped tour to Marseilles and back without touching a motorway, even managed a bit of off-roading (on a Triumph Sprint RS:eek:). Don't believe anyone that tells you there are no interesting roads in northern France, we found plenty.
 
The idea of this is slightly different, needs to be more than 50% green lane.

Forget road bikes for this one ;)

I thought i was going to the NW200 again this year but the misses assures me I wont be :bawling

Is that the one in april, probably going along to that one myself. Missed the october one but went april 08.

Also got a couple of track days planned, maybe one euro trackday, bulldog bash, and work permiting will try to join the big ride out. Also maybe going to scotland and ireland (not in one trip).

Should be a busy year:thumbup

and what ever else i do on my weekends...
