BRACKLEY
Hi guys, I have spent a lot of time admiring a lot of your beautiful bikes over the last 18 months but my 10 year old son (pillion wriggle monster) has noticed most, if not all, have a yellow rear shock spring. Can anyone tell me why mine is white and what the differences are. Just one of those things that make me a bit intrigued. Cheers for any info

White Sachs shock spring standard on 98-00 model, black/blue body. Went yellow Ohlins lookie likey from the 2000 model. All R's had Ohlins, therefore yellow

Exactly what PaulW said. Another fairly obvious way to spot when the other various cosmetic changes were made which are fairly innocuous is that from 1998-2000 'ish the brake calipers were red coloured. The 2000 model RSV got gold Brembo's instead. This was all before the more substantial updates came in with the 2001 model onwards.
