which are the best leathers???

gotta clean them if there white or even try it

But I'm getting a bulletproof, fully armored, tailored to fit Arlen Ness suit next weekend :banana

That was the idea, but it turned out different :bawling

I had an awesome weekend in Germany with my bf, but the whole purpose (=the hunt for my new AN suit) failed completely..

It turns out the shop didn't have the suit in stock (contrary to what I've been told over the phone) :banghead :banghead
I tried the smallest men's size they had, to see if it might be altered, but it didn't fit at all: the waist/torso/arms were WAY too big, strangely the legs were WAY too short, and it didn't feel comfy at all.
Despite all this, the shopkeeper told me the suit fitted just fine, dangerous fool ! :coocoo :coocoo
I was really disappointed by the store. On the internet it looked good (and large), but in reality is was quite shabby with a too eager to sell shopkeeper. :(

So, I have two options now. Because the suit is not available in the Benelux, I'll either have to go to a store in the UK where they have it in stock, or I take a men's suit to get it altered to fit me.. I'll see to the second option this week, if a suit can be altered to fit without too much cutting and pasting, I think I'll go for that.
A little over a month to go before the first trackday on the RSV, keep your fingers crossed for me please

For the last 3 years I`ve been in a one piece Teknic and can`t fault it in any way. £600 will buy you a top of the range `07 set. That said, I`ve just bought a 2 piece alpinestars suit on flea bay which was a bargain.
Don`t ya just love guys who change bikes and have to have everything that matches the new bike?
I find gloves are the hardest things to buy,,, struggle to find any that fit the way I need them to. Must have really odd shaped hands cause I go through em at a great rate of knots. Must be size 10.3 or something daft.

Enjoyed listening, I have a set tiger angles I bought of flee bay $450 Aus. and I love em. Don't plan on testing them out though!

i highly rate my alpinestars, took a 80mph crash into a round about with only a few very light scuffs on the arms, still use the suit now after 3 years of none stop uses (over 40,000 miles of use)

arlen ness all the way !alpinestars cheap hide from africa...........
had it all explained to me when i wanted a new suit had both in same price .

Only reason arlen ness got a such good rep after Shinya Nakano took the 200mph crash in motogp and held togeather perfectly. Lets face it none of are bikes are cappable of 200mph so there really isnt any need. All of the middel ground suits will take a 150mph crash id expect so save the extra money and spend it on a decent set of gloves and boots

edit: for anyone who dosnt rember that crash.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suGyH8dY870 OUCH!

mate get whatever you want:thumbup all i'm saying is the new alpinestars are not of the same quality of the older stuff they used to do .....

it's to your own if ya like arlenn ness but the price is herty go for beric it's the same company so berics are arlenn ness , just cheaper.

Berik is definitely not the same as Arlen Ness, just feel the leather quality or take a look at the stitching and you know where the price difference comes from.

they are made from the same people but you are right pumpkin the quality is crap they have nice designs though nearly bought some myself like the patterns then felt the quality and bought arlen ness:thumbup

I have a set of Crowtree leathers made to measure, never seen any better than these, BKS are equivalent i would reckon, different league to the off the shelf stuff, that's why a lot of racers used to wear them, drawback is they are very heavy due to the thickness of the hide, small cost if you want to protect your own hide, i wear Spyke at the moment and would not buy them again, comfortable but crap protection.

Sometimes i think its pure snobbery on what leathers people get

Get the best you can afford
Make sure they FIT

You're not going to come off at 170mph on the road and a £300 suit is going to be better than jeans and a bommer jacket.

well said, its nice to have the best of the best but dont skimp on the other parts. Also deepending on how quickly you need the leathers (and how close to Peterborough) the BMF show is in May and you wont find better deals than there! a mate picked up a 2 peace new frank thomas Ti kangaroo skin set of leathers for £180

Only suit from experiance i can honestly say stay well away from is RST a few people i know have had bad experiances with them.
