need help with which company that does leathers is the best for protection but also for value for money and also look good as well??

cheers for helpin

I think the best answer is the one that fits you the best and offers the most protection within your budget. Pretty much all the manufacturers nowadays offer leathers to a much higher standard than say 7 or 8 years ago. Companies like Alpinestars, Wolf, Arlen Ness, Dainese offer very high quality suits off the peg. Budget around £600 plus for these unless you can find a sale item.

Companies like Richa, Texport, Spyke, Hein Gerike, Berik, and Clover, offer very good quality suits for around £300 to £400.

The other option is a made to measure suit from companies like BKS or Crowtree. These are more expensive at around £1000 but are very high quality.

Try as many on as you can until you find one that fits properly. Remember it should be tight all over without being uncomfortable as the suit will give after a while. A loose fitting suit is not good as armour can move and not offer the protection it should in the event of a bit of tarmac surfing !

cheers fella i have set myself about 600 for the leathers so i think i would be able to find a alpinestar set for that if i look in the right places

Mine are Joe Rocket leathers, I paid £350 for them but they should have been £600 but were going cheap as they were the last years colours :thumbup

Get them as tight as you can as they do stretch with time and as said, if they are loose the armour will move if you slide down the road

I've tested mine out twice now :biggrin although not at any sort of speed and they haven't ripped.

Get the best your budget can afford mate after all it's your skin they're gonna save :thumbup

cool i am probably goin to go for last years colours because like you said there cheaper

bay of fleas mate bay of fleas, 600 quid on there will get you a nearly new suit that was originally 1000-1200
Dainese, Astars, BKS, Spidi,Kushitani(v good)

Tried on all makes nearly.....in the end Hein Gericke fitted me the best so i got them...all zips are YKK and they seem good quality....time will tell i suppose

I've had my HG suit for four years now.. haven't crashed in it, but I know that if I would it would be really nasty because the protection doesn't feel all that rigid to me. Also it's a man's suit, and in fact too big, so not safe at all :(
In fact it's incredible I did two long biketrips and a trackday with them.. not very smart I'd say! But I'm getting a bulletproof, fully armored, tailored to fit Arlen Ness suit next weekend :banana

i was thinkin of berik cos there have a suit comin out that i think looks awsome and whould go well with soem of the colour in my bike

Hello buddy, CK is spot on the money with this tip, this is how I kitted myself out as it can be very expensive in the shops. Obviously go to all the shops to try on and work out the sizes you need, then get on flea bay to grab a bargain mate. :thumbup

I did ebay for my Alpinestars, bargain of the century, take your time searching and bidding benny and bargains are there for the taking, that goes for all your stuff not just leathers :thumbup:thumbup:thumbup
