DIAG1.jpg

& does anyone elses throttle cables rub on the lower rev counter screen scoring it !? :confused

I think DIAG1 o or -1 is ok if you haven't touched the TPS. I might be wrong so anyone who is sure can confirm or rectify.

Diag 1 means your tps sensor is off a bit. In practise this means your throttle valves are opened slightly.

This is prolly because of the idle adjustment knob on the righthand side. If you were to unwind it it would would DIAG 0 I guess.

Anyway DIAG 1 is nothing to worry about.

maybe this is causing it too flood very quickly... will wind it back abit i think... it idles with a wobbley needle @ 1500rpms... think its suppose to be 1250rpms +-100rpms !? :thumbup

bleedin annoying aint it... i thought they might of been too long like Tuono ones !? :biggrin

is the bike running okay? if so i would leave it. tps adjustment is done with the throttle cables detached. so if you got yours on and tensioned, then the reading will be off.

Now just hold on there. I think it's the case that the TPS Diag 1 message should only normally be shown when you have the diagnostic leads connected - right? (Someone want to confirm that?).
Otherwise, Diag 1 seems to be some sort of red herring general error message that may or may not be factory but definitely indicates something amis.
I had a long breaking down saga coming back from the Donnington GP qualifying - I finally traced it back to a melted fusebox - but every time the fuse lost contact and the ignition cut out, the dash reported Diag 1. I've also heard of other people getting it with unspecified problems. So, sorry to worry you but you may have some sort of electrical problem.

your diagnostic cables are connected or shorting. read my pictorial post below and the instructions of how to fix it! you need to adjust it to Zero. TPS 1 is a little bit off on your Throttle Positioning Sensor. it will cause jerks which is hard to notice for aggressive riders. don't forget the additional info from legs just below my post!!! Good luck mate!

No need to adjust. Tps is fine and rarely needs adjusting. 1 is a normal reading with idle screw set or tight cables

cheers lads... im getting Dr Rossi chip fitted this sat @ Southern Cross... so il get them to set it all up !! :thumbup

rant on :rant

feckin el... just went to start it & it wont fecking start !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :angry

switched on... let it do its whirring stuff... display showed 'COLD'... so cold idle on... thumbed the button... turns over but no go... after 3secs of thumbing the button it reeks of petrol !! :puke

im so hoping its the chip thats in there... & that the Dr Rossi chip will sort it on sat... fingers crossed !! :eatcorn

rant off :rant

:biggrin

oh well... jumped from the car no probs... only to be greeted with a blizzard in Islington !!

rsv-twin, another case of a low or goosed battery. Just check out how many post there are on "my bike won't start". The cold weather highlights any weakness in the battery / starter solenoid. The engine will easily flood if it's not turned over quick enough.

i understand where your coming from... but its a brand new YTZ14BS & brand new Yami 100A solenoid... new plugs/leads... TB's... CO's... & TPS done... etc !! :dunno

i tried starting this morning... display showed 'cold'... but i tried it without the 'cold idle'... but no throttle & it **coughed** but would'nt turn over... i put the 'cold idle' on then tried it & it flooded straight away... reeked of petrol... so im thinking either the chip is dumping too much petrol in... or theres a sensor somewhere making it dump loads in when on 'cold idle'... or a stuck injector? !!

soooooooooo frustrating... so its in for a chip change/set up & dyno run tomorrow... & also il get the sensors checked everywhere !! :eatcorn
