I ken its been done before but I need a new set of tyre's after 1700 miles? I would like a set that lasts a bit longer than this. I have 207s at the moment, any words of wisdom

Wadderyerwant,....grip or mileage?
Most sports/touring tyre are good enough for the average rider on the road.Whatever you buy, just make sure they are black and round.

I got through the original Metzelers in 2,500 miles. Fitted Dunlop Sportsmarts which are superb - loads of grip, warm up quickly, and after 2,500 miles have loads of life left in them. Reckon I'll get at least 4,000 miles out of them.

Pilot road 3's. Best Tyres I've used but I'm slow as ****. I'll never find the limits but they've loads of grip and apparently should be good for about 6 to 7 k. Only done 1500 to 2000 on them at mo bit wear is excellent

Agree. The Road 2 was brilliant, so these should be mint

I would like grip and mileage but might give the Pilot road 3s a try. Cheers rubber guru's. Does that sound right?

Well i rate them and I'm not as slow as I made out. Last week I rose as quick in the wet as I do in the dry without any slips or slides.

Evlins mates are fast road riders apparently and they all rate them. She doesn't like the look of the grips though but it's a woman thing

Just an update, getting Pirelli Angel STs fitted this week. £164 when I get £25 cash back fae Pirelli. Hope these feckers last a lot longer

Think they should I've heard good reports & in last weeks MCN they said they's broken some endurance record.. is that for the pair good value if it is I'd say.

dunlop sportsmarts and michelin pilot 3's are probably the best road tyres out there at the minute imho :cheers

Don`t do it slayer :thumbdown, I know they set some endurance record with them blah blah ..... but the back tyres are ***** ,lose they`re shape pretty quick and no grippy at all !!

Can vouch for the roadsmarts though 100 % . Didn`t think they`ld last long on the T but mine are still in good shape after 1500 very unsympathetic miles :thumbup

They stick like poo in all weathers / situations ,only thing is they are pricey but hard to beat IMHO ?

Cheers Rig but the deal is done. will find oot aboot the grip soon enough as it pisses doon here awe the time. Had the T spinning up in 3rd today in monsoon like weather.

On my second set o angels on me other bike, never had a problem with grip, tested last week in the wet with ABS cutting in when emergency braking when leant over a bit, no idea why I never went down so to me shows they grip. Its a big bike with 155 hp and managed 5500 out the back, totally shagged though. They do start to get a funny shape after a while, hard centre and softer edges they sort o cupped at the shoulders

cheers nobpb thats set my mind at rest a little. the dunlops gave up after a run with a mate riding an R1. was right up his back wheel tae 110 and through the twisties:thumbup

I've got the michelins and never had a problem with the grip.
Mate has a Buell Ulysses and he had the Pilot Raod 2's on his and done way over 5000 on them on heavy bike. I'm looking to get a few thousand outta mine at least.

The new tyres seem good so far and the T is now steering a lot better. Only problem is that as there is a lot more rubber on the tyres it shows how ***** the sidestand is. Feck more money, is it ever ending

I had PR2`s on my 1050 Tiger (3 sets actually) and averaged 6k miles a set and thought they were excellent tyres, touring, weekend blasts, trackdays, never an issue with grip, good in the wet. May well try them on my Tuono 07 when tyres are needed. Its got Pirelli Diablos on at the moment. Anyone tried these? Haven`t ridden the bike yet (apart from test ride and dual carriageway home) but it needs a new front cos the right hand side is wrecked.

Shaun, I've used diablos on many bikes and always found them to be an excellent tyre. Never had a problem getting the bikes right over either

I've got Diablo Rosso 2's on mine, (180 rear) they're fine, never any issues with grip and at a recent damp trackday at Snetterton 300 they were very good.
