ok need to get rear and front tyres sorted....

reason for my question is because i have not experiences the bike with others on and dont have the money to put some on and not like them.

i want something that are great in wet weather and great in warm weather:devious :dunno

what do you think i should go for?:confused

thanks for the help

I'm running Bridgestone BT016's and find them excellent all rounders.

I am only a moderate speed rider and they more than meet my needs.

If your a fast road rider, then I can only reiterate what I've seen from the likes of Flick, he swears by 2CT's and the lean angles and speeds I've seen him achieve, well, I may well be trying them next time.

in fathoms how many fathoms fast do you ride?

speed limit? or just above

RS mate, have a look at the Avon Viper Sport.......a bike mag last year (can't remeber which one) had a Mille on test against other bikes and as a semi control measure all wore these tyres. The testers all HIGHLY complimented them for feel and grip!! I'm going to see what deals are on at the bike show this weekend, failing that i'm ordering these...........

LOL, you must be a copper??? :eatcorn

Do you really expect me to say on an open forum that I go everywhere at Mach 2? :dunno

I always obey the rules of the road, whatever they may be. :devious

i've got michelin piolet sport on i'm not a really fast rider though, the rear lasts about 5000 miles don't ride in the rain though. think you can get a pair for about £135 at the mo..

Michelin Pilot Road 2....great in wet or dry, and good mileage... :biggrin I'm on pilot sports and they've been ok for the speeds i ride at :thumbup

I really like Dunlop D209 Qualifier RR. They last very well for a race replica (RR) and don't seem to wear uneven, mind you I don't do a lot of highway riding.

pirelli diablo rosso

i ran these last season on a 04 factory 2 track days and 1500 miles still ok now. good feed back and warm up quickly and grippy when its wet

2CT's are excellent, they warm up quick and are good in the wet and dry.

I have just had a new rear fitted, I was considering a complete change to BT016's, but for now the 2CT is super.

Can't beat Pilot Powers (or 2CTs which have superceeded them) wet or dry, track or road but they ain't cheap - not much change out of £200.

I,m running bridgestone bt016's also, so far so good in wet, and warm up quick in this weather when it's dry, as for mileage I've only got 1000 miles on them but are looking good, maybe bit pricey, but ya get fit ya pay for.

Ya won't get me orf of me 2CTs anytime soon NFW :biggrin ...a great all round piece of road rubber in all conditions...& pretty damn good on the track ride days. The edges get nice n sticky when ya up the ante and open the throttle on the twisty stuff. Not cheap, but worth every dollar i feel. AU$600.oo fitted to yer rims & balanced for a set F120/70 : R190/55 :thumbup

I'm running Pirelli Diablo Corsa III and I think they are a pretty damn good tyre, lots of grip in all conditions and warm up quickly to.
Alot of people also swear by the 2CT's
The only other tyre I've run on my Mille was the Sportec M1 which I didn't like, the feel at the front end was rubbish, I believe the Sportec M3's are much better than the M1 though.
However I can also rate the Avon Viper, I had them on my old SV1000 and they were bloody good, loads of grip in all weathers, a touch slidy when it was raining and you first set off, but once you got a few miles down the road that changed.
I am tempted to try them on my Mille, but just ordered a new set of pirelli's as the rear was shot on mine but the front is fine and I don't like running mixed tyres.
