and don't be bragging about sily pressures cos you're just so fast....lol

just wanted to get a general feel for tyre pressures, i know the weather is cold so affects them too, its just i'm having problems with feel and think i might be running a tadge high

i'm currently running 32psi front and 36psi rear

I run 34 & 36. Did run them down at 30/32 but the general advice on here is that's too low. The current pressures feel fine though.

Have to say that some days I go out and the bike feels like it's on fire, other days are just mediocre! :dunno Mind you, maybe it's the rider that's being mediocre :idea

I have run 36/42 Pirelli Diablo's with no ill effects excepts the the tyre centre wear quicker due to lack of flex if you do any motorway stuff

I now run 33/36 which improves wear and wet feel but generally no more or less grip. Personally i wouldn't run less than that on Diablo's

Running 32/35 with Michelin Pilots agreat1. What tyres r u running at moment?

i'm on dulop qualifiers RR's - not a bad tyre ut little feedback, afraid of it just letting go

think i'm going to metzeler m3's next

had reacetecs for ever best tyre but dont last and crap in damp/wet

m3's have a top report from everyone and i commute on my bike as well as play

2cts at 30/33 which seems about right for me after trying 32/36 and 31/34. Might have something to do with my lack of weight though :eatcorn

33F-39R dunno if thats too high :dunno I havent experimented with different pressures. Looking at all your lot i might try the rear a little lower and see what thats like....Do you keep the same pressure if your carrying a pillion ?

Haven't carried a pillion for years sprocker. If it was a quick run I'd leave the pressures alone. If it was a touring type holiday I'd put them up a bit higher then, just to absorb the extra load.

I'm a bit ignorant on this subject. The manufacturer recommendation is 36F & 41R. What does changing this do for you?

im also confused now,so many different variants.
dunno what mines running, but up until recently when the tyres are fooked,
she was handling perfect so didnt wanna alter ewt.
havent got a clue what im sposed to be running now tho, looking at all the different pressures you guys are running?

how can you not know what pressures you're running?
you should check tyre pressure every week for safety alone

generally tyres run at an optimum pressure and the faster you ride and the hotter the day, the greater the pressure, thus causing instability etc...
finding the right pressure is a mixture of this and personal preference and feedback

33F and 36R, suits my road mille very well.
Anything higher feels horrible to me.

I run 33psi front and 36psi rear with every make of tyre I've used. If you go for the typical 36/42 the bike doesn't ride or handle like it should; does feel stable and falls into corners.

I've always run with recommended psi 36/42. I dropped the back down to 40. Never had any issues.

Why do all the manufacturers recommend 36/42 is its wrong? :dunno

Aprilia recommend, for solo rider, about 33/36psi front/rear (this is converted from the bar figures). 36/42psi is what most other manufacturers specify, particularly the Japanese, but this, I have found, makes the bike rather skittish, so I stick with lower pressures as recommended.

So it is! I am so used to every other bike I've had being 36/42 I assumed Aprilia would be the same. I wonder why all the jap bikes are 36/42 and the Aprilia is 33/36?

Ive always ran 33/35 on Jap bikes too. 180/190 rears and 120 fronts. If I do a track day I run them lower at 31/33. Never a problem.
