At last run my RSVR in, service done and I've been grinning like a cheshire cat ever since.

I'm thinking about changing the gearing, but what to :dunno :confused

Can I just fit a 15T sprocket to the front or do I need to change the rear as well? I so do I need to change the chain length.

I'm not over worried about to speed, but I don't want the bike to become a wheelie monster either, if I wanted that I would have bought a Tuono

15-42 works very well and you can use the stock chain - Tops out in the mid to high 160's

drop the front sprok one tooth and 'suck it and see'.It makes a huge difference.(and its cheap) Personally I like one down on the front and 2 up on the rear -for the road, for track you may want to go 3-4 up on the rear.(and 1 down on the front)

I run 15-40 and it only wheelies when you want it to and it tops out at 179..

I have a smaller sprocket in my garage MAtt, just say the word and it's yours.
Price
1 Chicken Lankah :devious

I have a spare 42 rear in the garage.. Is it worth the time and effort to put it on.
And will it mean I have more chance of blowing my dad off on his GSXR1000 on a roll on and off the line?

Its deffo worth fitting though I do occasionally find myself trying to hook the elusive 7th gear.

I do that now with 40 on the back. I did consider a digi gear indicator but I got confused cos the manual said that the bike has a gear and lap counter but I have never figured out how to use it.

Good on yer, you don't realise the difference of the altered gearing until you compare with stock.....I've got 15/40 and I blitz my Brother in law on his stock RSV. Plus the front is easy to keep down...just eat some more pies!!
