Guys,

After sifting throught the mound of paperwork I was given with my bike last week I found a installation manual for the exhaust system that has been fitted. After reading the manual and doing a bit of research the system fitted is the SBK replica full titanium jobby which comes supplied with the relavant chip to make it work properly and give a claimed power increase of 10bhp in the mid range, mega. Problem is it also states in the book for race use only but not on the cans. These things are seriously LOUD and to be honest I think will attract unwanted attention from the wrong people when I eventually get to take it out, so what I'm considering is trying to get another set of cans to fit onto these headers that are a bit quieter or will I have to do a complete system change and re-chip?. Manual and end cans shown here.

Welcome to the forum mate, I have the same system on mine. It actualy sounds louder than it is, I have never had any problems done loads of track days and they always test foir noise, these always pass at 99db some standard R6's are over 103db. Hope this helps:thumbup

hi mate dont worry the haga twin system did not say anything on the cans it had blank bands on wich you can buy at about£12 each. the edsrep did say for race use only on the cans and i dont worry to much. i think you can buy dckillers for approx£100 apair try speedaway aprillia. your outlets on the cans are 43mm i think. but with blank bands its not that big of prob anyway.mot time or owt else but could be wrong

Seconded. I had a full system on my factory and have the same set up on my current rsv. Sounds lovely. There not to loud as they produce a lovely deep note where as IL4's produce a high scream. They are louder than the twins are but don't sound as nice. I've never been stopped for my exhausts as there are far worse out there mate.

I have these same cans yet was quite dissapointed with the sound (shallowness of bass and relatively quiet noise) of these same cans after first hearing them next to my Ti Race Single Can.

However that single can was prolly a bit too loud as it needed repacking. lol

I've been pulled a few times for a "word" <take it easy son or else> by friendly plod but never about the noise of the single can. Also I have ridden past plenty of plod and just backed off the throttle never been pulled but could just be lucky.

IIRC don't they have "not for road use" stamped on the inside rear of cans i.e the side which faces the frame ???

iv got a set of arrows on my new rsv1000 carnt wait to hear it in action roll on any dry day

Paul, I've got a set of akra db killers in the shed, you're welcome to drop in and see what sort of difference they make. I have to say I found the akras on my tuono a bit loud for the road without the them.

That would be great but thinking about it, I dont think the end cans have the small hole in the outlet spout for a retaining screw, might be wrong though and could always get the drill out

just run the system that you've got....louder the better my opinion....lets the car drivers hear you before they see you

My first intro to the Mille was went I went via my Triumph Speed Triple to a little italian cafe in Sanderstead and noticed another bike outside ( Aprilia Mille). The bloke left the cafe I was in and started up his mille. It nearly shh---oooo---ook off-ff ff the fecking cafe windows then he did a ride past a mid revs and I swear it was like a fly past of lancaster bombers.

It was mighty loud and to me, mighty impressive and at that moment I decided I have to have one.

I've no idea what the exhaust was possibly a Tigcraft?

I think you should give them to me and you can have my standard system in its place

I know it's not Akra's but I've got the baffles out of my Leo Vince and it sounds sweet. Never had any trouble from the plod even when they pulled me for 90 in a 30. As said before they are a "different" type of loud if that makes sense. They are low and deep rather than sounding like a cat being castrated like the IL4's (although some do sound nice as well).
If it doesn't say race day only on the can then I wouldn't worry about it. Have a good look round them though as some have them on the inner hidden side:dunno

if they are same as haga rep they will say nowt trust me inside or out they are blank as said you can buy blank bands they are not like the edsrep so dunner woory. loud cans save lifes. just roll off abit in town
