I've had fun with bothe the Aprilia's I had...first one was on V5 as factory, but was basic RSV (it was the change-over model 03.9) and when I 'binned' it, had a discussion with the assessor who I openly stated that although V5 said Factory, it wasn't and never had been...still got a good settlement though. Then bought older shape 03 model & the V5 states it's Blue....well it's black and was mint when I bought it, showing no signs of having panels changed or re-sprayed...so that'll be fun if I have to make a claim!! Anyone know if it's possible to change details on V5 without a problem??

Yes, I've done it for several bikes.
A colour change is straightforward; a capacity change is more difficult.

Something like a colour change is simple because you're not affecting (or potentially affecting) the revenue class. A change to the capacity is more complicated for the very same reason. (I guess a change in fuel type would be too - for all you NOX burners!). IIRC, the former case requires copies of receipts; the latter case requires a statement from the garage on company headed paper (or a sample of your DNA if you do it yourself!).

BTW, if you're sending in a V5 for amendment, be sure to photocopy/scan it first. The DVLA's reputation is pretty poor when it comes to losing documents.

Yeah right! You're no longer pre-occupied with sex :jack and can divert all of your remaining energies to biking.

Hey, I didn't know you knew my wife :devious

Rumour has it that these bikes are a penis substitute anyway

Hmm, thinking about it I do enjoy polishing it a lot :doug

Problem is I haven't changed the colour..it was originally black as far as I'm aware (very clean bike 4700 miles when bought..genuine I believe due to the mint condition of paintwork, footpegs, gear selector, wheels, forks etc.. i.e no stone damage or wear & tear) so no receipt to show a change in colour just the fact that it's blck NOT blue as on V5!!!:dowhat
