What are you doing to your Tuono this winter?

I've done pretty much what I want to do to mine in the 3 months I've had it (cans, map 2, Ohlins rear shock, sidestand, CRG levers, Aprilia higher screen, Italian air force stickers........). Quite fancy some decent rearsets for it, and a a "comfort" pillion seat so on the rare occasions the missus comes out on the back she has summat to hold on to. Thought about getting the wheels power coated but black is just so easy to keep clean.

Italian Airforce stickers? Care to share some pics and where ya got them?

I'll be fitting my decat link pipes and putting back on my hex akras, modified side stand when it comes, 15/42 sprockets and also fancy some gillies chain adjusters.

not sure how i stand at the mo nob.
young uns just got himself his 1st job...... hoorah !!!

means i,m sure i,ll be buying another car fer the ****... booh.

so might have to move mine on 1st, unless i can strike a good p/x.

but as the song goes "the touldo,s they are a changin".

What are the rest of you lot planning for the winter sleep.

Weeeel...
Mine will be about ~4 months long owing to the winters we have here, and the cost of what I plan to do. ('07 Tuono R)
1. Suspension - front forks will be revalved with custom valving from Peter Kates at GMD Computrack in MA. Stockers feel
waay over sprung. I'll be using Hyperpro springs. Rear shock will be replaced, again with a Hyperpro setup, Hi-Lo compr damping and reb. damping. Free Sachs shock to anyone for cost of shipping.
2. BMC air filter and Quill Ti Evo2 cans
3. Tires - gawd, get these dunslops outa here. Probably Conti SportAttacks
**
4 Fueling - I'm currently working with the owner-developer of the Booster Plug (boosterplug.com) to make a version for the 06-10 Tuono / 04-09 RSVR. As much as I love riding the beast, its steady-state throttle is really quite poor, and two Ape sources have said it's because of the lean factory settings for emissions. IF - the boosterplug can ameliorate that by simply plugging in to the harness, I would gladly do that, rather then spend $300.+ for a PC, plus 2 hrs of dyno time for a custom map. Anyway, He/we will be looking to find some good testers when the time comes, people who will takes notes about how it feels and works in different climes, different continents. I'll make a separate post when I have something to post. In the meantime, I suggest reading his whole site for how and what his product does. BMW owners have universally lauded the product.
OK, I'll shut up now...

I heart my first couple sets of Dunlops on the T. The Conti's are supposed to be the greasiest feeling tires when tested. Pirellis and Dunlops seem to stand well.
And wtf is the Boosterplug supposed tae do anyway?

Here in the east, Dunlops don't even get mentioned as a suitable tire; they seem to work well in hot and dry climes, and/or racetracks. The popular ones are B'stones, Conti's, Michelin PR2. I've been running the Conti Road Attacks on my VFR and love them. Stick like glue in all
conditions and I've track'd them without a problem. Maybe they don't work a well on the T, I'll have to do some research.
The booster plug is designed to slightly enrichen the mixture across the whole operating range by tricking the CPU into thinking that the air temp is cooler than what the air temp sensor is feeding back - that's a one-sentence summary of what he (Jens, developer) describes in 4-5 pages of FI function and reasoning behind why he does what he does. Anyway, I'm hoping that the booster plug will smooth out the steady-state throttle, and off-on throttle response. It's experimental, I like experimenting!

Hi Diablo i run my tuoldo on conti's, i use a sport attack on the front and a road attack on the rear [180], never had any grip problems in any weather, i get about 3500 miles out of a rear, i did try a sport attack on the rear once,it only lasted for 1800 miles. 5 bloody weeks. so far ive had 6 rears and 3 fronts all good..

polishin polishin polishin,,,,an hopefull ma engineer dude neebur, is makin me some wan aff rearsets,,,,an some decals

If cored will they pass mot

no problem...just turn up at your test station with one of the cans slightly loose...slacken off all the fasteners before you leave home...

that way.....if you do get a fail, you can slip it off sharpish...and beat the cu*t senseless with it....

6k service, wheels powder coated, tyres, paint freshened up and a couple of chips sorted out, gonna mess with me seat. I might clean it too.
