What 50 did you have ???

It was a beast and it was immaculate too, and what's more I let it go for peanuts, About £2200 if I remeber rightly. WHAT A *****!:rant

you silly MAN :rant how could you ? please don't tell me you had the schol bandit colours or the blue and white ?:bling

I was young and stoopid back then with no taste in colours :biggrin

Now I'm just stoopid......

Damn right i mean that wass the 80's (was it:confused) you should have had it in neon yellow with wham graphics on the farings :devious

it would have looked very sexy :devious

Here we go first bike FS1E - 250lc-cb550- gs750custom sprayed with bat out of hell album cover on tank- gpz 550- gpz750 turbo - zxr750 - zzr1100 and now the best of all aprilia rsvr o2 plate

I had a Yammaha Dt50. Overbored to 70cc.

Did 45 mph and didn't do anything spectacular

I started out on a Honda C200. 87 cc and 5 hp of rip-snorting power. Top speed (indicated) was about 63 mph if you were completely under the paint and there was no head wind. :woohooBright red of course for the girls it would bring.:devious:devious:devious

Let's see, went from the Honda 90 directly to a Kawasaki H1, 500cc triple. Evil bike!!:pirate An absolute rocketship, for it's day, but it had a hinge in the middle. "Tank-slappers" were prety common fare.:scared:scared. Built, raced & crashed that one and got another. Traded "down" to a Honda CB 450 and sold that bike to buy my wife's engagement ring. :thumbup:thumbup Married now, going on 35 years! :love2:love2 Promptly 6 weeks after we married, she went back to work to help in the purchase of a 1973 Kawasaki Z-1. Great bike but also hinged in the middle if pushed hard.:pirate Sold that one & acquired a Silver Z1-R. 1978 I think but not sure. Sold that and bought a 1979 Yamaha XS-11. Came off that and took home a 1981Suzuki GS1100e. Another rocketship for it's day. Sold that & was off bikes until I bought a 1986Suzuki GSX1000R. Very fast bike. Sold it fairly quickly, I probably would have injured myself on that one.:scared. Off bikes for another period before purchasing a 1979 Honda CBX. One of my all-time loves. Beautiful sound. A pig of course because of the engine width but I still love the sound!!:devious:thumbup Sold the CBX to a guy with more cash than I could stand to turn down and bought a 2003 BMW K1200RS. Very nice bike. Big and heavy but so am I so, there you have it.:biggrinLast two bikes, that I still have, are a 2008 Kawasaki Concours 1400 and the 2000 Aprilia Mille RSVR. It's been an absolute blast!:thumbup Cheers all!:biggrin

Came a bit late to bikes , BUT first real bike was an RD250 but not the LC (boo hiss!) Loads of blue smoke and 90mph on the clock if I lay down on the tank. Still got one of the mirrors in the garage...but sold the bike as a non-runner a few years back.

I remember the MB50 with the big bore kits :lol i think it gave you an extra 10 mph :lol but 10 mph more on a 50 was rocket science :scared

I'm suprised no one had one of these , yeah to you young wipa snappers it mite look crap but it was the fastest thing out in its day or so im told :thumbup

AP50 , DAM those peddals never gave it good street cred :lol:lol:lol

I had a Kawasaki AR50 Special, Peterborough Kawasaki did a handful of em, technically it was a big bore kit that turned it into an 80cc, was good for 65 mph and sounded like a wasp stuck in a jamjar due to the Micron exhaust, will post pictures if my mum can find them :thumbup:thumbup

Heres mine skipped the 50 stage i'm afraid DT125 - CG125 (2) - DT 175MX - C90 (the most reliable bike ever) - MTX 125 (worst ever)- GPZ600 - CB 750/4 SOHC - FJ1200 - GSX 1100 ET (1170 big bore street fighter GSXR running gear) ZZR 1100 (street fighter) CB1300 X4 til this year when i did the deed - RSVR 03

I had a nice Blue AP50, it would hit 60 with your head down on the tank going down a hill with a tail wind. Was faster than my mates Fizzie but not as quick as those Fantic's.

It ended up getting totally splattered by a green Austin Maxi along with my left leg.

All good fun eh , apart from your leg bit though :mad1, some of us remember the bikes of bikers :lol:lol.. fizzers an ap's but i do remember the gilera 50 trials and that did shift :devious. Some bikes i've owned i would love to buy again just to keep and bring back those teenage years :yes those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end la la la la :laugh

never had one went straight onto a 750 2 days after my test:confused
