Went to chop in the SV 1000 for a Gixer 7 and end up with a 05 RSVR Factory Edwards Replica!!!! What have I done? I guess the CER is simply the factory with a different paint job? (Yep .. the dealer didn't have a clue!) Any thing I should know about it/them? Seems like the optimate is a required perm fixtur for them? Anyway always wanted a Mille so thought I'd jump in with both feet!

Welcome to the forum mate, got any piccies for us?

You've made a good choice by the way.

Hello Mate,

welcome, no the CER is the last of the original shape Milles - the Factory is a different bike all together. However if you mean the equivalent of the factory for the 1st Gen bikes then yes.

cheers

Welcome onboard...sure you'll love the Mille....should be a different animal to the SV!

Welcome to the Zone fella you'll be hooked on these bikes for sure.

I'm not sure which bike you've got there though. The offical Colin Edwards rep bike was a 2003 model older shape RSV Mille R with a twin Akrapovic exhaust system, unique paint and decal job and a host of other detail changes. There was no official 2005 RSVR Factory Edwards rep, however all the early model later shape 2003.5 onwards RSVR and Factory models had a little Colin Edwards signature on the bottom corner of the fuel tank, but all bikes had this. Post some piccies up.

Oh and yes get an Optimate 3 SP or the new Optimate 4 and keep the bike hooked up when not in use

Hey why's everyone being so mean to Mr Suzuki? What a nasty lot you are! :nana.

I've had an RGV250P, GSXR600WV, SV1000SK3, GSXR750K6 and really liked them all.....but I REALLY like the Aprilia as it's definitely a bit special. When I look at it I can't help thinking I should've paid alot more for something that looks that good.....hang on a minute.....booo to Suzuki!

Oh and welcome to the site by the way!

welcome fella i am sure you will love the prilla when you have a good blast on her, if the bloody sun ever shines again that is...:roll

Thanks everyone! Well looks like I've bought a Factory with Edwards signature on the corner. Told you the dealer didn't know what he was selling! Anyway its got the full ohlins front/rear and oz wheels so I'm pretty happy. Work means I have to wait to get it delivered then I'll post some piccies!

Welcome fella, the early factory had a signature on the back of the tank, edwards one side and haga the other IIRC, you can see it in this pic of my 04, the gold section at the back of the tank
