what bike did you go from to ride your mille? My rsv is my first vtwin to....and i love the grunt, seems to lay it down well and handles like its on rails, but I came from a second generation r1, not quite as fast as the first...but my first 150bhp bike, so the peak power of the mille isnt as much of a white knuckle ride as the r1, but I honestly think that if you went for power and speed all the time youd miss out on so many decent bikes, the mille vtwin is sposed to be only as fast as a inline 4 750, and even then im not sure if it could keep up with a gsxr750...but the mille feels 'special' and not mass produced like the jap bikes...guess what im saying is that the mille isnt blessed with speed when compared to other stuff out there, but thats one thing against so many plusses.

before i say more about how fast my mille is i didnt mean the top speed only how fast it gets up to around 100ishmph or more not the top speed i know i should have made that clear in the last post reply but hey im an old guy with an old brain lol .. the bike i had before the mille was a 98 thunderace i had that for 4 years and there by no means slow .also ive ridden a few other faster bikes like a 56 plate zx10R ,02 plate R1 which i thought was **** floppy gear change and not as fast as i thought it would be also 1200 bandit lol zx900 and some other too.but the old thunderace pulled like a monster only having a 5 speed gearbox up to around 150 was great then it would loose its edge against the likes of the R1 .but its not how fast it goes im into ,just how fast you can push it through the twisties is the part i like and no other bike would beat the mille there corner entry speed and exit speed on a mille is so good unlike the jap fours which need more winding up and braking control in and out .am i talking **** ? lol .also to say im not a top speed kinda guy ive only had my mille up at 150 mph a few times didnt see the point going any faster to be honest .
my point about my new rsvr mille being slower than my rsv mille lol was all i was trying to say thats all hehe :biggrin

agree with all that mate, thats why I enjoy my mille... any ***** can red line down a straight road but its the grunt in the twisties I like to :D think the older the r1's the quicker they are..the first models are rawer apprently, but like i said i just didnt feel that confident on mine, think the milles chassis is better, also at 3k rpm the mille is sposed to have 10bhp more than a gsxr 1000 and i live in cornwall, nothing but twisties lol....that says it all right there :D

well guys` done a few swaps tonight after work .ecu and leo v my off RSV onto my RSVR just to see if it would perform any better and bingo :biggrin instant ***** mode found:thumbup well pleased next step swap power commander see if smooths it out from raw to braw :thumbup .also tried the old mille with the rsvr ecu and blue flame exaust see how that would work , bit slower kinda like the RSVR before the swaps . swapped everything back again untill i get the rsvr taxed and legal for the road .should see to it when i come back from the racing next month as summers comming :biggrin

:D grats mate... give me high hopes for my dr rossi chip that im fitting today ...

Chaps, just a bit of advice from personal experience. Dont be a plank like me and not glue the chip into place when you swap them about. Mine vibed loose causing power loss followed by crushed bollocks and brown boxers!!

Never heard of a chip needing glued before? It would have to be hot melt I suppose, I just changed my chip yesterday and it was well tight to fit like

Dr rossi sent some info with the chip and it did mention securing the chip in place...

Is it hot melt glue then? And where is best to glue? Can you send info cheers

hello mate soz for the non reply I had my own chip probs lol but all sorted now :D the glue that holds the chip in place is like silicone sealer, just a small bit either end of the chip to secure it, to be honest my chip almost clipped in place so I doubt there would be much of a prob, but the original chip had the sealer so worth doing I think...

Hot melt glue is fine. No need to go overboard with the stuff though.

You can get a superglue gel stuff but I'm not sure how easy it would be to remove if you needed to. It's made by ultraloc and is very cheap on ebay.

Rob :)

When I changed my chip there was nothing on it holding it in place and it's been there for some time, think I will put some glue on now I know, cheers :)
