Trip

If you don't have too many plans, then from where you are my suggestion would be to head to Jaca, pick up the N240, and then N260 past Sort and alll the way to the Med and Roses. At one point you will see a sign saying bends for the next 80km, and when you get to the end of that you will see another. Awesome road, and should be on your list ;-)

If you have not already worked it out, get yourself a Michelin map of the area, in fact get as many as you can of your route, they will point out the best roads. But the best tip I can give, is have a look at the weather forecast and head for the sun, the roads are there, they are all much nicer in the sun, and none are as much fun in the rain!

Must say, been blessed with the weather. Today's a little windy but very warm. This is perfect Tuono country! Have maps and a great gps app - this US chick tells me where to go although she gets confused in the twistier. And some of them here are complete switchbacks.

These Bavarian roads are up there with some of the best I have been on.
Still getting warning sign. Decided to ignore it. Running well but surging in low revs. Needed new sprocket and chain and got it in France (great roads around Millau). Tyres have been great Metzler Z8 - done over 8000 ks so far. Been running higher pressures to get more life. Roads around here have tested grip - back scrubbed right to the edge now. Need a new back before heading off back to Londinium.
Cheers

Must say been very lucky with the weather. If anything a little hot and I keep getting burned specially up in the alpine regions.

Have some great pics. Anyone know how to upload from an IPhone?

It's over. Took the bike to Felixstowe to be shipped to Melbourne.
Done over 10000 Klms over 6 plus weeks. Seen some great roads and scenery and met some great people on the way, quite a few Englanders actually.

some pics from my trip - did about 11000 klms. The best roads? it's a hard one... Picos di Europa, Bavaria, Midi-Pyrenees, the N260 - all up there, but for me it would have be Basque country in sw Pyrenees.
Had a great time, met some good people on the way and encountered kindness.
Now I'm home and looking at that VFR in the garage and wondering if the wife will let me out for the odd tour here while I wait for the Tuono to arrive on the Melbourne docks. The tuono performed well apart from a couple of glitches. Needed new chain and sprockets and the Metzlers Z8 are highly recommended.

cheers

Arthur

yeah i didn't take any pics of Swiss passes or the roads around Millau even though they vie for top spots. But glad I took the ones I did.

Motorcycle Journeys Through Western Europe is a great guide. A lot of the routes I took were based on it. Other times I would go where the other motos were going. And, Sygic app on my iphone was invaluable - this American chick told me where to go until the battery ran out, then i would drag out the Michelin map.
