too slow... :(

I have a power commander chip, amazing [but very illegal]:devious exhaust -can't remember the manufacture [look at the picture] modified air box [part of the tank now :thumbup- see racing spec] Use decent fuel and service it well. It is NOT slow and the drive out of corners will leave most things dead.
The only downside [to some, but not to me:confused] to this chip and exhaust is that it takes much of the power upstairs - so it is not dissimilar to a four. However it still retains that famed grunt and effortless drive once the bike gets half upright again. IT IS NOT ALL ABOUT POWER
Oh yes, it is a 2000 model!:nana
I really believe that it is not about top speed etc etc, but more about enjoying your ride, having a fantastic chassis and getting home thinking "My, that was good"

yes really welll said, and that term '' that felt good'' was shouted inside my lid during a trip to the nurburg ring a couple of weeks back, i also hate straight line speed but love the twisty's and the mille was made for em, i travelled down with a few lads and one of them riding a new b king, he loved the straight line thrashes , but what a feeling going past him in a left hander on the outside of him , leaning in that much, you could nearly unfasten his boots , then bolting out the corner like a scud missile :doug sorrry for hijacking

got 15/42 on mine Vmax says 148mph/236kph (must be broken officer:dunno) and that was about 9500rpm so maybe a little more left if that helps.

Also as mentioned before I think the clock reads alot more accurate than the japs, when I follow my mate on his tl through a 50mph speed camera my clock says 46mph. so if you scale that difference up, his clock showing 170 would be about 155 on mine.

Don't know if that is how it works, but it makes me feel better:D

I'm also 26 and happy with the top speed... at the moment.

I went out and checked my 2002 against the GPS and it overead by 1 MPH up to about 50, and 1.1/2 - 2 Mph at 70.

As it seems so accurate at these speeds it suggests it may well be linear all the way up.

When I find a long straight private road I'll test it's accuracy further :devious:devious

Unreserved apologies - my comments could be seen as 'having a go at you' and for that I was out of order.
I suppose as I get older I have to be more analytical with my riding as my reactions are slower and I did all my top end speed work [?]before the days of the Tax Machines [Gatso]
The exhaust I have on my bike came with the power Commander Chip and does make a huge difference to acceleration and top speed. My other exhausts [standard for the MOT and two separate pipes - Akrapovic - not for road use!] make the bike feel like a scooter - so I think you have a point.
Also the history of my bike is very very good so I think I have a particularly good one.
Anyway I do apologise and I will pay more attention in future to what people are actually saying
Take care
Phill A
