Hi,
I'm trying to work out whether it's worth getting a chip for my bike.
It's a 2001 Mille R. It has the following engine mods:
- wire to the ECU cut
- unrestricted air collector
- Evoluzione airbox & filter
- Moto Corse Ti 2-2 exhausts
- PCIII USB with a downloaded map

I bought the bike primarily for track days but do ride it on the road still so I don't want to turn it into an unmanageable fire breathing beast. The mods I've done have smoothed out dip at 4500-5000rpm and given it more power.

I'm thinking it's time to get it on the dyno and get a custom map. But before I do is it worth changing the EPROM? Would an EPROM make any additional difference with changes to the ignition?

PM Dr Rossi and he'll explain all you need to know...he's the man for chips :thumbup

If you have a PC3, then a chip won't really be necessary. You need to get a custom map done through a reputable Dyno centre

I have heard about this ignition timming being changed by an upgraded eprom before but can this be done by the new power commander V or whatever it is called. Or can it be done manualy by a tuner. Im an idiot by the way.

yeah, find a geed dyno dude, that will sort it.
(although some chips are better than others!!)
Get a CMap and take it fromthere.

I had a custom map done on my mille & I thought it was good until I ode some other Mille's,it was ***** wasnt happy until 3.5k ,fine open roads but was surging & being a pig in town, take it to someone who does milles regularly, speak to Griff ,he's uses a guy that he swears by

Ok,
well I know a good tuner with dyno. So I'll book the bike and see what he can do. And maybe/maybe not look at a chip some time later
