Hi everyone,
asking for help again! Had the Bike a week now and getting to realize "what a Bike"!
Having problems setting up the Right side Clock on a 2003 Fighter,
Have set up the rev limit (Using "C") but on start up the rev counter goes up and back whilst the Clock displays "Side Stand" and lower down, "Diag" with a 1 underneath, after a second it goes to Zero (Diag 0").
For a Nano second it flashes two other displays but too quick to read?
A & B pressed as Ignition is turned on shows readings on Both screens as explained in manual!
However the "D" button will not initiate the set up for the Temp and Digital Clock ?
every other function on the Dash works.
Previous owner tells me the Speedo doesn't work? not sure if this is connected in any way?
Have any of you had the same issues in the past.
Thanks in anticipation,
Best Regards Len.

Hi Guys!
Now having Great Pleasure in Finding out What its like to own a StreatFighter, only thing i need now is a Speed Scensor.
My 2000 BlackBird has Donated Her Side stand and its a Direct bolt on, apart for Drilling a new hole for the Stand Scensor.

Yeh! A Stainless "Telegraph Pole" ! The Guy who sold it to me also gave me the Aprilia Titanium Race Pipe and Chip? tried the Can last night!!
Now I cant stop me Ears Bleeding.

It works well, its hopefully short term as BlackBird is Sulking , having 5mm taken off Aprilia Stand, should get it back on Tuesday, for a try out??
Will let you Know.
Regards Len

Even if you shorten the original stand, it still does not have a big enough footprint on the floor, I suppose the bike will lean over a bit more though.
***** design to start with.

Best way to really understand the problem with the uk stand is too see it along side a US one. its not just the lean angle of the bike, uk one heads straight down, hence they fall over...
US one is designed to support both rider and pillion both sat on it... worth paying for imho.....

:)

I have a US stand that i am putting on my V4 later.

I will take some comparison photos.

Right peeps, i have fitted the USA spec stand and the difference is astonishing.

Since the day I bought the V4 I have been worried about it falling over because the side stand footprint is too close to the bike when it's being used.

I think a slight nudge, a gust of wind or uneven surface and my toy would end up laying on it's side.

Below I have added some pictures to show you the difference.

Euro spec stand.

Notice how close to the bike the stand is when it's down. You can barely see the footprint.

And again, euoro spec, decent lean angle, but the footprint is way to close to the bike.

Close up of euro spec stand.

Next 3 photos show the difference in design. Euro on the right.

USA spec stand fitted, notice how far away from the bike the footprint is.

And again

From the rear

Close up.

Now the bike feels and looks safe on the stand.

Well worth the upgrade in my opinion and god only knows why Aprillia see fit to install the substandard stand on the euro bikes.
