Since I broke down last week, when I start the bike now from cold it makes a horrible noise just like when you have no oil in the bike. this only happens fore about 2-3 seconds once the bike starts.

If the bike is warm, it starts no worries and no noise?

Any ideas guys. Have I buggered something trying to start it when It died?
Is it a Set on fire job:devious

Sorted the Breakdown out, Bloody wore that connects to the sidestand relay has come loose. All sorted :):thumbup

To be fair, that was what I thought but surely it would make that noise all the time and would not start?

It'll only make a noise when starting Garv - by 'all the time' I assume you mean when starting both hot and cold (not when it's actually running). Could be just starting to go and only makes a noise when labouring under a cold start:dunno
I'll try and retrieve the sprag tools just in case!

But it only makes noise when cold. When its warm it start AOK with no sound.

Should the bike not want to start as well? Im thinking its not the sprag as the noise is once started for a couple of seconds not whiles turing over if you get me.

Maybe its low on oil. Best check :)

you know it makes sense being yellow and all:thumbup

Also check it's firing on both cylinders. You wouldn't believe the horrendous noise they make if there's a plug problem. It sounds like the things about to self destruct. If there's no loud clatter on initial start up indicating sprag failure, then it could well be a spark plug / spark plug lead / ignition problem.

Also cam chain tentioners have been know to fail or become weak from time to time. This makes the engine sound very "rattley"
