glad it turned up...and with only minor damage...not sure about the lock either....

+1 on above

It's just so wrong that we have to spend money on anchor chains and ironwork concreted into the ground. There should be a proper detterent or punishment for all those caught, not just a slap on the wrist & tag them.

Chopping some of their fingers off would be a start,as would tattooing THIEF in large letters on their foreheads. Ummmm, got me thinking now:rant knees, baseball bats.

Everyone should have one chance maybe two, but after that treat them as a confirmed criminal and hit them with everything to hand (legal & otherwise)

No sign of my Kwacker 636 turning up though, hope they ride it and have a painfull accident.

Apologies for the rant.

Excellant news Justin, I would change the locks anyway, just in case they have copied the key.
By changing the locks you change the whole ignition barrel which I think will solve the steering lock problem

yeah, bloody happy hey!! Where would i get a whole new lock set from? I would need to change the rear as well. Would they be able to make a copy with just the lock and no key??

Best bet is to get a complete lockset from somewhere like ebay.

The ignition switch is held in place by 2 bolts, and the loom is unplug and replug, although watch your routing around the damper.

The fuel cap is a couple of hex bolts and a + head driver screw.

The seat lock is a couple of bolts for the seat lock and another couple for the latch.

shouldn't take more than an hour to swap the whole lot over.

Check the lock stops at the base of the steering head to make sure these are not damaged as well.

Great news on getting back your steed dude. :biggrin
