starting problems

Hi lads anyone had trouble with starting due to a faulty air pressure sensor? My tuoldo has been in my local dealers all week (it wouldn't start last week) they have done the usual new plugs, leads and new battery (still no start!) They found the air pressure sensor was faulty took it off cleaned the connector up put it back on and the bloody thing started! just waiting for a yuasa ytx14-bs battery before I pick it up! Im just amazed that an air pressure sensor would stop it starting!

it could cause a starting fault but usualy its a running problem (running too rich or lean) caused by wrong readings goin to ecu
strange that cleaning the connector cured it as that hints that there was no continuity and would throw up a fault code
tis easy to see if the sensor is faulty if the dealer uses the diagnostic equipment and reads what the sensor is reading compared to the other sensors on the bike .

the dealer is yamaha so they dont have any diagnostic equipment for the tuono, it was a friendly aprillia dealer who put them on to the pressure sensor! I cant replace the sensor just in case its faulty as they are £115!
