Looks a costly job, are you scouring ebay and the like for used spares, are you replacing everything with OEM stuff too :O

Makes a pleasant change not to see someone fightering a cashed steed.
Keep the pics of your progress coming

Surely you could straighten and weld that £200.00 bracket mate? It's only the fairing headlight mounting.

DaveRSV,

I think there really difficult to straighten/weld, pretty sure there not just alloy, got other crap in it and become very brittle.

Milleboy82,

To be honest mate i dont think the bike looks that bad. All of the damage is in one area. The most expensive bits are gonna be the fairing/headlight mount. A good second hand one is gonna set you back around £100ish, new headlight £80-£120ish, clocks about the same price, radiator anywhere from £40-90 ??? dunno why the price differs so much. Clipon (handle bar), indicators and small bits are normally cheap enough from flea bay/breakers.

One bit of advice i will give you is, dont throw any of your damaged panels/parts away. Keep them to one side. You may need to get clips, bolts/screws washer etc from them, if you have to start buying new ones from aprilia you could be shocked at some of the prices they charge  DONT THROW ANYTHING AWAY !!!

It may also be worth putting a Wanted ad on some of the other RSV forums for your bits !!!

Cheers,

Ritch

Oh yeah that would be nice :inlove I was thinking just last week about a white one...with black wheels tho' :thumbup

Why dont you do a copy of the 2008 model RSVR. For decals pm ckruzel on the apriliaforum.com as he is the legend for the best decals

I know what you mean about parts being scarce on ebay. I've been rebuilding my mille since oct and i still cant get my hand on a 2003/tuono tail light.

Good luck with the rebuild, from the pics it is only a scratch ;)

Advice needed... I am considering buyin a 06 Tuono, its a bit smashed up.

A project really, but a trick one. It will be used every other day for work, so no bling what so ever.

Getting bits for the build... Spares a problem? Bit pricey?? The one I am looking at needs a rear subframe, tank, front end... and a few little bits.
Built a few Jap builds, spares everywhere... easy!

Thanks..... Fx
