The cam is a bit of a surprise story......used a Nokia N8 cellphone, made a cardboard ' sandwich holder then fitted that inside with a lens ' peep-hole '
The camera inside this cardboard ' wafer ' then goes in a small cardboard box propped with foam and duck taped to the tank.
I turned the carton box upside down with the flaps open on the tank and taped it down. A quick check showed that the memory card would hold 1.5 hrs of video on ' medium ' quality ( which is what u are seeing ). A bit cumbersome to attach and take out, but I felt the effort worth while. The Nokia N8 has stabilizing software, but I can reduce the ' shake ' more by using a foam with better shock quality. From the quality I won't be surprised that it is exactly the same hardware as a purpose made ' action camera ' in another housing. The video speed is slightly erratic and I think that on ' low quality ' the camera processor might be able to keep up with the speed of processing required.
The box was also about 3 cm higher than required on the tank so I bumped my chin on the box every now and then and would be in the way of a top speed run when you need to tuck in behind the fairing.
A good excuse to go try again....
