Smoking!!!

oh ffs alright then. ill have to phone forza first thing to get that with my rubber doughnut and my crush washer.

what does it do then?

that diaphragm didnt look split or torn BTW, now you mention it. i had the cover off briefly and oil leaked out of the cover (this is before i drained it) so i quickly put it back on but forgot to check where the oil was seeping from.

if thats intact then what do ya think it could be dude?

:p

right first things first dude ,
Dont buy stuff you dont need!!!!!

check the diapragm if its not split then you dont need to buy another one!!! and you wont need a one way valve either!!!

put the bike back together

drain the oil, refill it with the correct amount as i described dude at the weekend!
you mustnt do more than one thing at a time to repair your bike, otherwise you'll never know what caused the problem ...this is how you spend money you dont need to !

run it up for 10 mins and see how it goes , then please report back and we;ll take it from there , i'll keep a close eye on this thread buddy ,dont worry as i said before mate we'll sort this no worries! your bike sounds too good to be broken! and 21K isnt a lot of miles!!

Catchya soon!

Griffer!

Good advice there matey. that was a LOT of oil that drained out and i couldnt se and damage on ya rubber doughnut either, unless it was under that metal plate

But you did take the hose off and it stopped smoking yes

griff - hows it going dude, i drained the oil out of the bike sunday and cleaned the airbox AGAIN and refilled it with 3 litres, warmed it up and then topped it to 3.5 litres, rode around the village and checked again to see if it was full. it was 1 inch above the bottom, perfect amount.

went for a ride (15 miles) to clear the injectors etc and it was still smoking like a crazy *******, so i removed the airbox and cleaned it again ffs and put it back together and left it.

i then proceeded to remove the TB / clutch cover hose and blocked the hose with an allan key. i started the bike and oil spat out everywhere from the brass barb on the clutch cover.

the bike was still burning a little oil but it was because of what was left in the pipe. i removed the allan key from the end of the pipe and oil drained out of it all over my leg 'doh'

i haven't done anything since then, because i assumed the problem was the diaphram, i now have a new one and was going to fit it this weekend.

i was going to remove the clutch cover, and the metal plate covering the rubber diaphram but when i did it at first it leaked everywhere. i remember you saying something about oil shouldn't come out of there when its on its side stand???

so i guess the next course of action is for me to remove that clutch cover, the nyloc nut and the metal plate to see if i can see any perforations?? just an assumption.

all i have done so far, in short terms, is drain the oil out and put the right amount back in, the day after the aprilia show. i ran it without the TB - clutch hose and oil pissed out of the barb. my diagnosis - diaphram knackered, but i know piss all, please tell me what to do next!

cheers dude.

matt - i did remove the pipe and the bike did not stop smoking, but it was because the pipe was filled with oil. i should have drained it really..... ill do that now and let you know asap.

thanks dudes!

IMO oil in that hose would be sucked into the TB and burnt, so take the clutch cover off and take off the diaphram, you got a new one know so it cant hurt, its got to be that

Sure Griff dude will be on sometime to let you know whats what :thumbup

Right, he has lost the internet but he told me he ran the bike with that hose off and the bike ran clear of oil, oil pissed out of the clutch cover tube though, so defo the diaphragm i think
