I have hit 172 on mine (although I think the speedo is a little optimistic) but there is no skill in just pinning the throttle (although big balls help!).
Show me a slower, twisty road with low hedges and I'm a happy boy, these things handle well and that's what I enjoy.

:rantSo what track should i use 1st timer, all i hear is snetterton, fook that looks real boring, must be somewhere twins use for good fast ride? Sorry to rant perhaps better to find out for myself, not lookin to race, just enjoy

I have only done Castle Combe (my first track day) and Silverstone as my second, I would highly recommend Silverstone but of course I'm not that experienced. Castle Combe is very easy but really just a big oval with a couple of kinks (I think you can do the whole circuit in third gear!).
As long as you put yourself in the right group and ride at a pace you are comfortable with then you will enjoy any track, although I'd probably stay away from Cadwell.
We are trying to programme both Silverstone again and Cadwell this summer, liking the idea of the Open Pitlane at the end of Mar but not sure what the weather will be like!
