ok, so she fell off the stand highly upsetting! does anyone know of alternate stands that fit? I've read about the 04-07 blade one fitting but theres none on ebay and can't really afford 60 sheets due to the damage to the bike, any help greatly recieved!

cheers!

I think the Gixxer 1000 stands can be used, there's a thread on here somewhere if you do a search :thumbup

at last a fellow west yorkshire bloke! i havent come across that one i found the honda one by searching though, cheers i'll keep lookin

Why are so many people on about the side stand:dunno
I've got an 02 mille, should I be worried about her falling over? she seems pretty stable and solid

might be different mate i dunno, mines an 05 an she fell over whilst i was opening up my garage after a ride, its pretty painfull!

My 03 nearly went over 10 mins after picking it up whilst at the garage putting fuel in it :rant
First job I did on it was change the stand, much more stable now :thumbup

yeah i need to do it just finished replacing handlebars n clutch lever but the fairing etc needs doing gutted!

i like the idea of the stand and will do it, just not sure where to start with the welding aspect etc!

Ive got an 02 RSV-R and she to feels pretty rock solid on the stand, there are instances where with the right circumstances she does look a little unstable,ie slight down hill pointing forwards but then I wouldnt park any bike on its side stand in that situation,i think common sense provail's but you also need to make sure the stand is fully out before dropping her onto it (been there done that, trapped under bike )

mine feels pretty stable but to be on the cautious side are there any stands that are a straight swap i.e no modding including switch:dunno

cbr 1000rr 04-07 i think. 06 definately fits cos i've done it. use the rsv bracket, bolt and switch and the honda stand and spring. piece of piss to do, 20 mins max.

Does anyone know where I can get a cbr 1000rr stand from asap:eek: Mine is bent and leans like that tower in Italy. Its only a matter of time until she goes over

:thumbup Cheers

I think ill go chrome. And while im at it i might chrome the whole bike :puke

Never looked on US of A fleebay before.

Buying off US fleabay is a tetchy subject for me at the moment. Bloody UK customs, even if the sender marks it as a gift if the value is over £36 inc postage you will have to pay VAT. Over £120 and you will pay a customs charge as well as a royal mail charge. I brought a kite for £520 delivered and had to pay £108 customs before they released it:puke And they didn't even tell me it was in the country, it was only after chasing customs 5 weeks later that they said it was in my local sorting office and had been for 4 F*****g weeks:jack and to top it off since I got it the wind has died down so can't even use it:rant rant over
Worth looking at how much difference there actually is between UK and US prices taking into account the possible charges and waiting time

Also will a 2008 CBR1000RR stand and spring fit:dunno

I just phone a motorcycle breakers. I ordered my fireblade side stand yesterday and it turned up this afternoon!! it took 10 mins to fit.

:thumbup Loads better. It`s still quite upright , but i`m used to seeing my 748 leaning right over.

It was £47 INCLUDING POSTAGE , and extremely quick delivery.

don't think a 2008 will fit. plus it is straight so the bike would have the same ish footprint as with original stand

I have just changed my stand for a 07 cbr1000rr
used the same bolt/spring/switch no probs

just by luck after reading this thread the other day I looked and found one on (ebay uk) buy it now for £15 so keep a look out or save a search they do crop up
