side stand

Is it just me or are the side stands a bit dodgy i put mine on it today and thought it was going to topple over i watched it for ages didnt dare leave it just incase
 
bloody hell what have i brought a bike that seems so dodgy should have kept to my gixxers every time i have a look on these sites its more bad news this is crap that is crap what next any way i need i 04=07 cbr1000 stand do they fit straigh5 on

you can get a modded stand off ebay now and again or get a blade one and fit that but think it needs a few mm taking off the end or do what i did and chop up and weld a GSXR on

took me all of about 20 mins to do so if you have a welder( or a mate with 1) its an easy little mod

Just done mine 2004 to 2007 CBR 1000 RR but cut 10 mm off you wont regret it. Had to buy mine new could not find one second hand cost £60 you will also need the spring good luck and welcome your better off with the APE.:thumbup
 
mine has a totally dif one from what every one else has if i get chance i will put a pic up no idea what it is off
 
Ive just put a 04-07 Blade one on mine. So much better than std. Bolts straight on- no mods needed (unlike GSXR one!) even same size bolts. Much more stable but as mentioned above I might shorten it by a few mil to make her lean a little more!

Just to annoy the member who paid £60!!! I paid £14 off feebay complete with mount and sidestand switch. I should get some of that back selling to Blade switch and mount!!!. Life is good!!
 
maybe im missing something i have a 04 model so the 04=07 blade one goes straight on no welding or cutting where the gsxr one needs cutting that is no problem as long as i know how much to cut off now do i need any brackets at all or just the stand or if i get a yankie one do i just get a 04 model rsv stand bloody hell hard this is

From what I have seen the blade one fit on BUT its best to cut it down by 10mm

the usa type goes on without problems or needing to be modded but think you need the mounting bracket as well

And the reason I went for the GSXR one was because I already had it sitting in the garage so didnt cost me a thing:doug

Dont think I will get annoyed over £45 It was just easier to buy the new part instead of trawling around looking for one Ride safe buddy Ken:dunno
 
bubseywoo is back on making the stands.
Ordered latest gen stand to my RSVR lets see how it fits when it arrives.
