took it to the local bike dealer earlier to get some advice and they just said cut it at the bottom and reweld the pad on ..easy job (supposedly) they seem to think its probably somewhere around 0.5-1 inch needs cutting to put it right....

Fair play. didn't want to cut and weld the original but at this rate I may have to. I have ordered a blackbird stand now so will try that. If not I will cut and weld one of them to make it fit. With the money spent so far if this doesn't work I would have been better of buying a bloody new one from America

I've meant to mess about with my oem stand and see if it can't be bent into a more stable position without fouling or sticking out to much in when it's up.

Just another job on the list, though it would save loads of hassle if it can be done.
