Just for them that's interested after the long winded numbers game in my previous thread, last call was i nearly took a newer jap bike from them i replacement of the mille............

bottom line is there is just no comparison , styling , sound , feel, and presence

trying to give the bike a second chance here, after many calls involving the service history and finding out that no one is sure wether they wrote klms or miles , i find just a 1000 miles adrift near the time i bought it

here goes

10/5/02 bike new

1/6/02 678kms 421miles

12/9/02 4671 2902

2/10/03 7619 4734

25/6/06 8915 5539

23/7/07 11447 7113 this was an mot stamp and said miles

31/7/08 15002 9322

23/8/09 12874 8000 this was when i bought it

what do ya think lads, i just dont want to part with it

Glen, having read your other thread earlier, I can see where you`re coming from with all of this, and yes, service history IS important, especially when you come to sell it, BUT, the bottom line is this:

You love the bike, it`s in great nick and doesn`t ever appear to have been thrashed. It`s also in the condition that the the service history would seem to indicate, so, as has been said above, don`t dwell on it for a second longer.

It`s a great bike, you`re well-pleased with it, so just enjoy it !

Good luck mate, and have fun............:thumbup

Yeah I agree with the others, the bikes a minter and a couple of thousand miles on top of the "apparent milage" is bugger all really as these engines are good for many more thousands of miles. Important thing is the condition, not milage.

just leave out this one " 31/7/08 15002 9322" when you sell it on :devious

My mate bought a mint 996 Foggy Rep a couple of months back on which the clocks had been changed and it turned out the mileage was about 8K more than he'd thought when buying it - the bloke gave him back £500 and now he's happy as Larry with it. Judge the bike, not the paperwork - and if it does it for you, keep it and ride it.

thanks lads i appreciate the comments and your right

sorted cheers:thumbup
