My T has been in Aprilia Performances' safe hands all today for a full service, valve check, suspension set up (what a difference!) install a socket for my sat-nav, ... the works.

I was there all day too pretending to be busy on my lappy but I can honestly say I leaned more about my bike in 7 hours than I have in the past 8 months of ownership.

Good crack with some other punters, a hugey **** off bacon sausage tomato and mushroom bap from the adjacent butty van.

And the cost ?

£309 all in.

I would have loved some of their wicked looking rear-sets too but alas that will have to wait until funds permit.

Well worth giving these guys a try it in my opinion. Griff and his team are to be congratulated on their professionalism, thoroughness, willingness to teach and general all round good-eggedness.

Few of us plan to go up soon fella for suspension set up. Might have service as well if funds permit. What's the miles on your bike at the mon

6,025 miles on the clock

From the things I saw as she was being disassembled, a "proper" service had never been done. e.g seized exhaust bungs and no sign of coppa-slip on any threads.

Griff was happy to explain and show things like hydraulic cam chain tensioner, what to look for in the intake flaps, even gave me a go at feeler-gauging the cams/valve cups so I could "feel" what he was looking for.

The guys ace at what he does and what a pleasant change from dropping a bike off at an anonymous dealership and spunking out a wad of cash for work done (or not) behind closed doors.
