The Frozen ******* Wasteland!
In deference to Fat *******, I would like to start...

Take off the original front and replace it with a one down. Then go two up on the rear. 15/42 I believe. Wakes the grrl up HUGE!!! Who needs gearing for 280kph when we need to make better use of the torque and midrange grunt in our everyday world!!

Well, I've done the deed and put the 42 rear on.

Have only done about 30 odd miles, but it sure has livened things up!

The throttle now seems much more instantly connected to the rear wheel and acceleration is a lot quicker. It revs a bit higher for a given speed in any gear, e.g 90mph in 6th is now about 5750 rpm whereas I seem to remember is was about 5000 rpm with the 40 tooth rear.

I'd agree that the bike seems a bit smoother at town speeds, you can easily sit in 3rd at 30 mph now whereas before it was kind of a toss-up between 2nd and 3rd.

On B-roads when accelerating out of bends, the front end is a lot lighter and I think I need to learn to get the bike more upright out of corners before giving it the beans!

It makes quite a difference and I'll have to get used to it but it seems grintastic so far! ;)

15/42

Front done, rear on my 'to do' list.
Will post results!

I put the 15 front on when the first service was carried out, as soon as it warrents a rear I will fit a Renthal 42, post as soon as you have done yours sparky and let me know your opinion on the 15/42 set up.:)

sparky,
sorry abut that I,m sure that was not showing when i posted, Must be the memory going LOL

The schprockets was started before I saw the 42 tooth thread. My bad. And I haven't peeked at the one that says "sprockets". Dunno why he would start that one...

HAHAHAHAHA!!! I remember the day that I picked up Andiamo after her 42 rear was put on. Four car lengths to the intersection then hard on the gas left to get into traffic. I lifted the front end and nearly lost it cuz I started giggling so hard... Fun, aint it?

Quick question,....when fitting the 42t sprock,do you also need to fit a longer chain?

and if its revin higher huv ye seen any difference on mpg ( or mibbe its to early to tell yet)

Another quick question,.....do the 2nd gen Tuono's use the same fitting rear sprock as the 1st?

Standard chain will be fine KB, I had to wind the adjusters in about 3 marks on the swingarm. (I have a 15 tooth front sprocket)

BTW was that your bike at Taz today, round about 2 ish?

Haven't noticed any mpg difference - from what I've heard, others seem to think it's not affected

Cheers for that. What sprocket did you fit,..Talon,Supersprox,Renthall? Are they the same fitting as the Tuoldo?
Oh yeah, not my bike at Taz,...sadly not ridden it for 3 months,....hoping to be back out and about soon.

I picked up a second hand (about 100 miles wear) Talon one for a tenner, so at that price I couldn't resist just to test it out. Light as a feather compared to the standard one, but probably won't last too long as it's a lot of fun when hard on the gas!

Sorry mate, dunno if the Tuoldo ones fit...
