Hi guys and girls I'm helping a friend with finding some parts to make a RSV sidechair. We have the oppourtunity to buy a 2001-2002 motor with throttle bodies. How do you think this motor will go up against jap fours and the likes of vtr or tl motors?

Also we will need electrics if anyone can help? (Ill post for wiring in parts wanted as well) If motor is viable project.

Hi, thought I'd help bump this up as it seems an interesting project.

I would've thought the Rotax engine would be a little weak compared to a Suzuki TL engine, and certainly down on the in line fours.

Rotax is supposed to be reliable though and I know you sidecar boys love blowing things up...

The in line 4s will eat the Rotax for breakfast noramally but used in a sidecar could be interesting due to the torque.

I agree inlines would smoke it for HP and TL well , it is kind of cool to have something a bit different and HP not everything as you have to be able to lay it down. Chassis would be a big factor.

(This is a Stockcar style sidechair)

RSV4 or 2009 R1 motor would be ideal I think.

Does the 60v assist with traction as well as torque?

I stick to two wheels just helping friend with project, yes they do seem a little rough LOL.

Had ago on some of the guys bikes I ride with K7 1000, 04 Blade, 09 R1 and the power difference is massive to the RSVR (still like RSVR though) but for race purpose Ill take the advice and reccommend he gets something more competitive.

a 1198 would be interesting! If it was me though i'd go for a IL4
