I need to take my back fairing off so will post some pics when i do!

Will give vince an idea how it all fits, maybe the 03 didnt need the spacers

There are definitely two shouldered tubular spacers aprox 12mm long which fit between the subframe and rear fairing on my 2001 rsvr single sub framed bike. Had it all apart couple of weekends back and remember them quite clearly. Of course your plastics are different so that might be total bollox as far as your bike goes.

I think there should be spacers. ive seen where to buy them only a couple of quid but it doesnt need them desperately the rear end seems to fit quite nicely together now with all the new bolts in. roll on some nice dry roads haven't really had chance to give her a good run. only done about 70 mile on it quite a fun 70 mile though :thumbup

Thinking about it you can probably get away without them on a single subframe, they are there but since no weight is going on the rear you maynot need them.

On a two up you would defo need them i would think to stop the weight of the pillion crushing the plastic

right the seat cowl I was watching ended. guy sold it to a friend ahhh annoyed now. If anybody knows or sees a seat cowl to fit 98 - 00 rsv let me know please preferably black or grey but any colour would do. This part seems to be like rocking horse poop.

hey not having much luck with my seat cowl the one got from ebay never had the seat lock pin. so im looking at buying 02 rear plastics and an 02 seat cowl because they seem easier to find. would the 02 rear plastics bolt straight on?

For what I been told...from 98 to 02 the subframe are the same, that's means the plastics should fit...I would make bit more research about it...

Guys go for it...I have an 03 subframe with 2000 plastics everything lines up..subframes stayed the same just plastics were changed so all the mounting holes line up across the years...there is a different bracket to mount the seat lock on the single seat and dual seat subframes..you can modify the single to fit the dual ..I know I done that...just cut 2 tabs off...you could probably modify the dual to fit a single but would mean welding a couple of tags on

juat ordered the rear plastics including lights from an 02 RSV. should make it look nicer too!!! post pics when it arrives and fitted

Dunno if it's already been said but as far as I know the sub-frames are the same apart from the fuel tank hinge bolt holes. Got the later plastic tank on my '99 Mille and it sits about 5mm further back. Also the smaller, vented side fairing bits have a tab that bolt to the subframe, where on the early models they just bolt to the frame and a bracket up under the front of the petrol tank.
Dunno if that's any use?

Quick update after having very little luck finding a seat cowl that will fit the plastics i currently got on the bike i decided to get all the bits for 02 RSV
