The TLZone and TLPlanet are good because they are about riding. This forum is that way too. It seems you always post about controversy, yet there seems to be no tantrum bashing that I can see. Maybe you could just lurk and enjoy the bikes. I have been around TL and Aprilia folks for quite a while and find both equally welcoming. Riding bikes is about riding bikes. I don't care if you ride an ape hanging Harley, you are still riding a bike. I respect and appreciate bike riders. I try really hard to get along with them all, but from time to time I run across a few that bear avoiding. They are the exception rather than the rule. Go ride at track days, you will find some great folks there, try it.

A TL will never be as good as an Aprilia, doesn't make either one bad or good. Just different. I have more fun blasting on my DR-Z70 and XR50R than I do dragging knees on the Gixxer at the track. Bang for the buck the mini-bikes are great. I also love to work on scooters of all types, and regularly work on my friends and their friends bikes. Rarely can I leave a chain un-lubed, or a wheel dirty and I have to set up suspension properly. I also change tires and chains and oil and such. I do it because I love it. The only things I love more than motorcycles are God, and my family. So I find ways to get along with "all God's Children"

At the end of the day, I am digging the whole bike scene and enjoying it with the friends I have made on line and in real life. Life is way too short to be upset with an internet forum, or other asshats on bikes.

Go drag a knee or fix a problem with your bike and you will be much happier.

Thanks Doug - this is a perfect example of a post that annoys me :devious

The comment on my posting about controversy is correct - too many people just accept any old rubbish posted on here. For example the helmet debate - lots of people buy an Arai/Shoei not for there protective abilities but for bragging points and image then slag off cheaper helmets. I don't agree and say so.

'A TL will never be as good as an Aprilia'. At what? Having fun on? Pride of ownership? Posing points? It's funny how a bike you own always seems to be magically 'better' than what everyone else has. To be honest, myself and many others were pretty tired of your 'My Gixxer is so wonderful and better than a TL' comments on the TLZone. Sorry but someone had to say it.

I think you are right though - I don't belong on a forum where having an opinion is frowned upon.

Tantrum has now left the building :lol and Sabre you're still a :jack

Lovely bike mate and looks in great condition. Not sure I'd have been able to sell it. Find it hard to understand how a forum would make me change my bike if I loved the bike but each to their own :)

I'm more likely to change forums and keep the bike, even go to a general motorbike forum.

As long as you're still going to be on two wheels (whatever the bike) that's the main thing at the end of the day though mate :thumbup

here here mate...i'd give up bloody computers long before parting with my Mille :nana

Tantrum, you don't half talk a load of bollocks sometimes fella :dunno. Talk about contradicting yourself. Everyone is entitled to their views and just because it doesn't fit with your point of view then there's no need to jump down people's throats. It's called discussion and expressing an opinion. Chill and be cool fella

Personally i'm glad you're keeping the Mille, it's a great bike and it is miles better than a TL 1000 by the way and i wear an Arai because they are much better than the rest :thumbup

I'm not glad at all.........................I was hoping to get the bugger to buy my VFR, as I've now seen a fabulous Falco that I want:devious
.................and no, I'm not telling you where it is Tantrum, although I'm pretty sure if you're looking out for a Falco/w.h.y on this, general bike forums and the worlds best auction site (ehem) I'm sure you've spotted it already :biggrin

......And I wear an ARAI, as I seem to have an expensive fit head, which is a shame as I don't have anything in my head worth protecting really........:biggrin

It goes without saying that Millez & Arai r the best :lol:lol:hail:hail

You are still stressed up from your days down south mate, get some tripe and cow heal down you instead of them jellied eels and you will soon chill and get to grips with us northerners
You are riding the bike make the most of it.
I have only recently joined this forum and i find it interesting ,knowledgeable, commandatory to the common denominator that is mille's / bike riding . humorous and superb dry humored piss taking at times. long might it continue.

What is your problem :O

A gixxer is a better bike than a TL it is faster, stops quicker, is lighter about 10 years newer technology etc
You are a fool if you think TL is a better bike, funny how about 2000 of us on here all get along but you seem offended by us, I guess you are in the wrong forum

What is your problem :O

crikey we must be a bad bunch of boys n girls here....:pirate

Shame really - didn't quite get my head around why he was upset with the forum :dunno
Trouble is it's decent blokes like you Sprocker that make weirdo's like me, without an RSV, hang aroud here :biggrin

................I'm working on it though, but it's gonna be a Falco I'm afraid - I'm just weird that way :nana

I'm from down south.
Now let me get this straight: You're getting rid of one of the most charismatic motorcycles ever made in favour of one of the most boring? Just because you got a few adverse comments on a forum?
I know 'you meet the nicest people on a Honda' (as their old adverts used to say) but do you really think you're never going to annoy any VFR owners?
In fact, let me show you how: ALL VFR OWNERS ARE TOSSERS!
Post this on the VFR forum before you sell your Mille, then come back here once you find out that people can take offence at anything, whatever they ride.

PS. I actually kind of take mild offence at your implication that there is some kind of generic Mille owner that I am typical of. But you know what? I'm happy to forgive you.

PPS. I saw that thread where you got a good slagging and it was obvious that the guy misconstrued what you were saying. No need to get up tight about it.

PPPS. I'm no expert but your Mille looks earlier than 2001 to me - I've got one and there are several differences - deflectors, instrument back-light colour, side panels, rear lights, fairing side panels, tailpiece - but if anyone more knowledgeable wants to correct me, I won't throw a tantrum!

I can't believe we are still wasting our time talking about him.:thumbup
Lets talk about something much more interesting, how about hoovering.:thumbup

Yeah, I had a really rewarding experience with a hoover the other day ... oops, wrong forum.

Trust me to lower the tone. Ok i cut the grass yesterday. and it rained today.
See much more interesting

I cleaned my bike this morning and as soon as I wheeled it out of the shed it pissed down :rant

I moved to Kent from Merseyside to get away from the rain. Doh!!!

Went to plan 'B' :

Decided to rip apart every electrical connector on the bike and proceeded to clean and pack the connectors with electrical grease. (That'll stop those damn electrical gremlins getting hold of my bike)

Amazing how four hours can pass so quickly, isn't it?

:doug
