Rivnut Tool Loan

The caliper bolts are prone to siezing for the same reasons as the hugger ones so i recommend people take them out and prep them if poss.

I guess with tyre changes they at least get removed more frequently than the hugger ones.

No point in retapping them as the chances are that next time I want to take off the rear hugger I'll be drilling the buggers out again.

A mild steel threaded bolt in an aluminium casing with loads of water thrown at it daya after day = disaster.

Best to fit a stainless blind rivet and that'll be job done, shame Aprilia don't do this as standard.

RS3Mille, have you really got one or is Badboy just trying to make you look really unhelpful??

I hate to be argumenative but rivnuts are marginal at best for what you're doing. Plus they are not going to be seated flush against the swingarm so you're going to have a gap between the hugger and the arm. Drill and retap them so that you are using an 8mm bolt instead of the 6mm it came w/. Use stainless bolts and don't grease or lube them w/ any ptroleum based product. Slather some silver anti-seize compound on the thread of each before installing it. You can come back 3 years later and they will still come right loose. That's my 2cents worth. :dunno

I'm with Sprocker, who's that on your Avatar?

By the way what was we talking about?? LOL

Oh yeah!

I usually fit the flush mount rivnut inserts all you do is countersink them slightly.

Or you can use the Timeserts See Here not cheap but a brilliant fixer for stuffed threads.

2 Cents worth always appreciated though.

I'll always listen to anyones advice, especially from someone with 21 yrs experience. If people choose to ignore it thats up to them. They'll go away and do their own thing and fcuk-up, but I'll bet they take notice next time :biggrin

Ok, so you guys are all in the UK, huh? That is Kim Kardashian. She is a "celebrity" basically because she comes from a ridiculously wealthy family and she's freaking hot doesn't hurt. Her 2 sisters were not quite as blessed as her though. Do a google on her name and you will find a multitude of amzing pics of her. She even has an amateur *** tape that she made with her bf and he sold after they split. You can find that on the web too.

Nah I reckon she looks like a bulldog licking piss off a nettle lol :devious

Id rather have this one
