Well after a 36 hr round trip to Skinner motorcycles in Dundee with the bike in the back of the van its still in Dundee :bawling :bawling Got the valves checked and they assured me they would have the correct shims for me to return home that day with the bike, but the shim gods were not in my favour, 5 needed shimmed as they were out of spec, but the shims they required they had never stocked, nor does Aprilia UK, so the bike is still in Dundee awaiting delivery of the shims at a 3-4 wk delivery time, cant blame Skinners who were very apologetic and even tried to move around shims to make it work but to no avail, hey ho, looks like I'm bikeless for the next month. Seems like a great little bike shop and they know there stuff, just a pity it didn't work out for me, here's hoping the shims turn up sooner rather than later................

I'd imagine itll be a fair bit as theres quite a few valves on the cusp of beign too tight so just told them to sort them too seeing as its in bits anyway, and the £309 I paid to go down on the boat added to that its expensive!!!!

Mike did my valves, new inlet cams, new cam tensioners and new followers.

Also rebuilt my gearbox when that went all Aprilia.

He is the only man I trust on my APE

Mike is Brilliant.

His son Rory races in the Red Bull Rookies series.

Before the sponsorship Mike built all of Rory's race bikes. he also had an Aprilia franchise, but they were shafting him demanding that he kept huge stock levels of new bikes.

That is something as an independant that he just couldn't do. The prices that he was paying direct from Aprilia was more than the big dealers down south were selling new models for.

So he took the decision to drop the franchise and focus on Rory's racing career.

The correct move in my opinion as Rory without doubt will end up in MotoGP.

Sweet I'll keep my eye out for him I'm all for supporting the smaller man I'd rather give my cash to a smaller business than a larger franchise you normally get a better service and job to

Definitely :thumbup

Wow nice to hear he's the man for the job, very nice guy to talk to, it's good to get a little history on the place, it ain't a big place but got the feeling he knew what he was on about. I did notice he had quite a few race bikes around an a few RD350LC'S in too. Need to keep an eye out for his son in the future then. Cheers Rizla.
