This event is now being held on Friday 19th August 2011

Following on from my recent posts, the riders4research event originally planned for Thursday 18th August has now been moved to Friday 19th August 2011. The option to move the date became available & we felt the Friday may encourage more riders to want to take part. People will need to take less time of work to attend if travelling from a far & will have plenty of time to recover being the weekend will follow. Those already booked do not need to do anything, your future correspondence will show the new date, all you need to do is turn up on the right day!

Snetterton 300 Circuit
3 groups. Novice, Intermediate & Advanced
Only £115 per rider

All profits raised from this event go to Cancer Research UK. To book your space click here:

Brief reason why:

6 years ago at the age of 24 I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer to my neck & nose. Had to endure a tough course of chemotherapy & radiotherapy which made me rather ill at the time & was a bit close to the dark side for my liking. As the consultant said, we have a problem & need to act fast, it’s all or nothing I’m afraid. At the time, getting out of bed was a struggle let alone the thought of throwing my leg over a bike again. Anyway 6 years later I’m still here, got a wonderful family behind me & am riding bikes again.

The hardest part for me over the last 6 years apart fighting this disease myself, was losing my mum on 30th November last year at the age of 56 after a 7 year battle with breast cancer. She was the bravest person I knew, unless you knew, you’d of never have guessed she was ill & she fought till the bitter end. I’d like to think she, along with my dad made me the man I am today.

I’ve been running riders4research events raising money for Cancer Research UK in the on & off-road world for the last few years, but for obvious reasons this year’s event means a little more to me. It’s something I organise by myself in my spare time for fun. Don’t make a penny out of it, it’s just my way of thanking & giving a little something back to those that helped me & tried to help my mum. It’s not going to change the world or find a cure for this awful disease but hopefully the money we raise can then go on to help others now & in the future.

Cheers, Robbo :thumbup

Glad it didn't cause you to many problems Dave.

No you don't need to do anything regarding the track day, all riders already booked will automatically be moved over to the new date :thumbup

Afternoon all. Going to try & answer some of the questions that keep popping up, so here goes:

We are planning to run 3 groups on the day with a max of 37 riders per group. 30 minute sessions for each group from 9am to 5pm, extended until 8pm if the option becomes available with an hour for lunch, so plenty of track time to be had!

Easy Track run a very relaxed day, based on the final numbers & level of riders booked, will determine how many groups are actually run as we can mix it up a bit. Being Snetterton is a wide, long circuit, some other track day organisers have recently been running 200 riders over 4 groups, so limiting it to the numbers stated above you'll have plenty of room on track too :biggrin

I’m also going to get some t-shirts printed to sell on the day at signing on, so make sure your wallets are full. They will be £10 each & will look something like this

If there are any riders that can’t make the event but would like to contribute to the cause, I’ll happily take donations for Cancer Research UK via PayPal as gift using [email protected]

I’ve not had chance to catch up with the guys at Easy Track properly this week but last time we spoke there were only 13 riders booked in, we need 100+ to make the day a success so I’ve got my work cut out. Understand it’s a way off & many of you won’t know your plans until nearer the time, but if you are free & want to attend please put my mind at rest & book up ASAP.

Have a good weekend, Robbo :thumbup

Robbo, how does the 8pm option become available?

Simples, on the last few occasions Snetterton have given Easy Track the keys until 8pm so they've run a day & evening session. If we get the chance to run until 8pm those booked for the event can just carry on until the sun sets as we are not running a separate evening session.

It's now Saturday so are you going to enlighten us with your new purchase?

yeah come on rusty, were all on tenter hooks here mate !!
From my conversations with him on another forum, looks like he has outed the T & bought a cheap track hack. Told me I'd have to wait until Friday to find out, it's now Monday ffs Rusty!!!

Sorry dudes only just logged on, been fiddling with my new toy

It's a 93 FZR400RR with a 95 600R engine in it, cheap as chips and it definitely looks it. It is road legal and carrying the full trim but I'll be using it mainly for track days.

The tuono's still with me :thumbup

Yeah man, I hope so. I planned take her to mallory this thursday but I've still got quite a bit to do to it and looks like the weather's gonna be dodgy anyway

Nice, enjoy Russy boy. What do you mean, Snetterton, I think so!!!

Funny, I bought exactly the same bike minus the 600 motor about 4 years ago for the track. Gave £550 for it on eBay. Was so clean I felt bad tracking it, so put it back on eBay without touching it apart from an MOT which it sailed through & sold it for three times more. Sure I got a pic on my pc somehere, I'll have a look when I can. 2 more additions to the family since & I wished I'd kept it as can't afford another right now, doh!

Apologies I've been missing in action on this for a while. The arrival of baby No.3 & the start up of my new business venture means I'm flat out 24/7 & just not had time to get on here.

Anyway, hope you're all keeping well?

I caught up with Marcus at Easy Track at the end of last week. With just over a month to go, we are at about a third of where we need to be on bookings for this event. Would be nice if at the end of next week we had at least 75 riders on board, so come on guys. Don't matter if your black, white, male, female, fast or slow, this event is for a great cause & will only work with the support from you guys, the riders. It is going to be a cracking day out on a brilliant circuit with plenty of track time for all in a fun, safe environment.

We are hoping to run into the evening until about 8pm. There will be no extra charge, those booked for the day can carry on until the sun sets. It's just dependant on us getting the keys for the day, so I will keep you posted!

It is open to anyone on any make machine so spread the word to all, Robbo.

Morning groovers, hope your week's going ok, it's Friday, yeehah!

Met up with the guys from Easy Track on Monday at Brands Hatch. With just under a month to go, space is filling up but we are not yet where we need to be to make the event a real success for Cancer Research UK. We've got flyers being dished out at upcoming track days & a few shameless plugs appearing in a few national publications & online this month, so hopefully we'll fill spaces soon enough.

The best way to generate awareness of the event is word of mouth so I'm relying on you guys here. If you are (or know of anyone) thinking about booking up, please do so ASAP. Will put my mind at rest, lol, & last thing I want to be doing is turning riders from here away because we're full.

Have a great weekend. Robbo.

Not long to go now eh m8? I'm soooooo excited!

Have you booked any digs down there yet? Oh and also I didn't spot the donation box to tick when I booked but would of made the donation if I had. How can I put that right bud?
