rideout?

It's looks like at the moment were all going to have to keep putting a rideout thread on week to week with the rideout date and keep an eye on the weather and make the final decision on a friday PM and also try and do a different area of the country each rideout

look like its offdue to the weather gasboy jinxed us :lol:lol

Unlucky boys, the weather is beautiful up this way :thumbup I managed to crawl out of bed to blow a few chest bugs out this morning going to Squires cafe to meet a few guys.

Met GrahamRSVR after he had a few probs sorting his bike but I'll let him tell the tale...

hopefully can make the next rideout :thumbup

Good idea Sharky m'boy....then we'll know who's up for it and the weather will be the deciding factor!

tiz a good idea :thumbup perhaps if everyone stuck there details in the "member map" rideouts could be planned around areas where peeps lived :dunno

where do i start... had new chain and sprockets to fit and my lat thoughts were how hard can it be:confused

So I broke the old chain fairly quickly..fitted the rear sprocket then the front ...had a wee moment when I thought it was the wrong one as Aprilia sprocket had a rubber facing on each side...rang the bike shop who said all Aftermarkets come w/o the rubber...ok then...

The chain...:jack

Id been sent the 110 instead of the 106...so got the rivet kit onto it and took off some links...(hold that thought)

Bent the rivet pin as I was taking out machined pins and not softer rivets ...but i split her(it) and was motoring on...so went outside and threaded the chain on....to find the back wheel didnt want to take the chain...hold on I know its prob smaller as its new and needs to stretch but it was takin the piss....:confused
:eatcorn:eatcorn:eatcorn:eatcorn

I happened to look down to see the spare coupl of links that i removed and then it dawned on me.... i could see 3 facings...lets work out the simple maths graham...110 - 4 = 106...you removed 6...******...was livid for about 5 minutes...

So what i did was mov the chain adjusters to 2 notches above minimum each side and got the chain on and messed about trying to get the slack sorted..

Anyhow...finally got everything sorted but have sort of shortened the wheel base of the bike ..apparantly it will turn in quicker now..?:thumbup

Tahts not all,,,went on a wee ride to squires and went to the garage on the way back to get theior opinion which was a thumbs up..

However the last part of the tale is.........I came home and washed her down and set about the new rivets on the chain just to make sure it was ok as it was my first time...so what did i do...push the pin all the way through (the anvil broke into 3 peices which was to stop that~) so now i need to order a new link and pin before I can rider her again....

Well at least the gearings sorted now:doug....if anyones thinking of going down on the front to sort the gearing out...DO IT...its a whole lot better and accelaration is better too"!!!!

Hey i can certainly relate to that most "little" jobs i do turn into a friggin nightmare but normally comes good in the end....:biggrin
