replacement rear brake light switch?

So today I found out that my rear brake light switch is not activating the light and after removal it would seem that the pin just doesn't move far enough and is very notchy when pulled all the way out.
Is it best to replace with a standard replacementt or is there another cheaper option

Its a 1999 RSV Mille cheers.

the standard switch isnt expensive dude and normally works pretty well....i can help with a replacement if your interested??

Arrived the next day, and now finally its all fitted up and working a treat (delays fitting it nothing to do with the bike or the forums) and i must say most excellent service from Griff and the forums as a whole.
